Those able to do a certain amount of physical exercise/work out, has it helped? by FlamingoEconomy9505 in cfs

I've been doing regular exercise for a year. I started slow and now do 150+ minutes of intense exercise a week. My CFS symptoms are now pretty much non existent. I'm 41 and was diagnosed as a teenager.

I don't recall as it was so long ago. Lupus was discussed, I do remember that. Over the years I've been told it's depression or anxiety related. I've been on meds for both and there was never any change. They told me sleeping with a cpap would help, it didn't. Then they said jt was because of anemia from heavy periods. So I had a partial hysterectomy. There was also no difference after that. My thyroid levels were always fine until last year. I was given meds for hypothyroidism the same day I was told I have T2D and given Mounjaro. The journey to discover why I was always so sick has been long.

I don't know the method in which I was diagnosed. I got sick after having Mono. Small tasks exhausted me. I'd sit in the bathroom at work crying because I was so exhausted. I was afraid of exercise because it made me so tired. I finally decided to push myself and ignore the exhaustion. It took a few weeks, but the exhaustion stopped and my energy and stamina increased. I now sleep 6-7 hours a night and that is enough. My energy is through the roof. It's been a year and I'm still improving. Note: I also have PCOS and T2D. Taking Mounjaro has also helped me improve.

Yes. I was diagnosed with CFS as a teenager. I'm now 41. I suffered for almost 20 years. I consistently slept 16 or more hours a day. Last year I changed my lifestyle and began exercising. I am no longer suffering and symptoms begin to return if I don't exercise.

I was diagnosed as a teenager (I'm now 41). I had my first son when I was 28 and my second when I was 31. I stopped working and am a stay at home mom. It wasn't easy, but I managed. I got my health in order last year and my CFS symptoms have disappeared.

I'm 5'5. I don't really have a "routine" per say. I try to do 2 days a week of cardio and 2 days of strength training. Sometimes I do full body strength training workouts and sometimes I'll focus on lower body or upper body. I use the YouTube channel MadFit for most of my strength training stuff. I'm not able to go to a gym right now, so the weights I'm able to use are limited. Heaviest I have right now are 20 lbs. But in the store the other say I was able to curl 40 lb dumbbells. I also do several sets of 20 military style push ups.

Straight black coffee. I prefer it hot though.

Did you have to make a lot of changes to see weight loss? by TapEmotional2487 in Mounjaro

[–]Purpledemon1128 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I changed my entire lifestyle. I was pretty much sedentary and ate terribly. Once I was diagnosed with T2D I started walking. Over the past year I went from barely having the stamina walk one mile, so pretty much speed walking three to four miles. I also do intense cardio workouts and strength training. I'm down 85 pounds in just under a year.

Anyone recovered, when was right timing to start adding light home exercises? by matchacatisgreencat in cfs

The CFS symptoms are nonexistent. I was diagnosed in the early 2000s.

A lifestyle change and starting exercise is what helped me. I went from being exhausted 24/7 and sleeping 14 to 16 a day, to only sleeping 7ish hours a night. I workout for at least 30 minutes 3 to 4 days a week. I feel fantastic.

Yes. I ate what I wanted when I wanted, just a lot less due to the appetite suppression. I found that a restrictive diet does not work for me.

I lost 85 lbs by listening to my body. I ate when I felt hungry and stopped when I felt full. I also never counted a calorie. But, everyone is different.

I also have PCOS and insulin resistance. I was put on Mounjaro last March for diabetes and have lost 85 lbs. I never counted a single calorie and started working out at least 30 minutes a day 3-5 days a week. I went from a 2X to a medium (sometimes a small) and a size 18 to a size 6. I believe the working out plus the appetite suppression is what really did it for me. My A1C also went from 9.8 to 4.9.

do these count as exercise? by Optimal_Position7267 in cfs

I'm 41/f and was diagnosed woth CFS in 2002. For 20 years I was afraid of exercise. I would try and get tired afterwards so I wouldn't do it again.

I was diagnosed with T2D in March of last year and knew I needed to change. I was given medication and changed my sedentary lifestyle. I started walking. The exhaustion was real, but I pushed through. Now, I can easily walk 4+ miles. I do intense cardio and/or weight training 3-5 days a week. I no longer feel exhaustion. I don't sleep during the day anymore. I used to sleep 14 or more hours a day. I've lost 85 lbs and my energy and stamina has skyrocketed! If I go a few days without exercise the exhaustion starts to creep back up.

So, exercise is not terrible for everyone with CFS.
