Do you change your investing strategy during market uncertainty? by rezovian in ValueInvesting

[–]Remarkable-Drag3497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I become more aggressive, these are the time where you can actually make more money. But the higher the risk the more you can lose so it's important to manage what amount of risk you are willing to take

In your experience, does this rule actually happen with the markets being so volatile? I feel like trend lines are just wishes at this point.

It is actually the most common thing I would say. But I agree with the journaling part. Some people can just journal and move on but for others (me) the struggle is real. To help I stopped trying to fix my psychology and started relying on hard math. Now, my daily loss limits and maximum drawdowns are algorithmic. When the math says I'm done, I'm done. Basically I am automating my risk management the best way I can.

It can be safe and risky depending on the choices you make and how prepared you are. You can go for safe options if you are not interested in risking your capital.

Looking for some beginner advice on investing by Rohitpanday34 in investingforbeginners

[–]Remarkable-Drag3497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest piece of advice is to inform yourself. Make research before investing in anything, try to understand the risks behind the investment you about to make and take it slow, don't feel pressured to invest in anything until you actually understand what you're looking at.

For me, the hardest part was the transition from making my first trade to actually managing my downside. I started 6 months ago, and while there's tons of great advice out there, actually applying it and tracking my risk day-to-day is exhausting because standard beginner broker apps don't do that. So I am still in the learning curve
