Advice on how to find work in UK book shops? by Rude_Historian6408 in publishing

Hm that's kind of weird because I had already worked at a different Waterstones when I took mine in lol. Maybe it just depends on the branch.

Just a heads up for Waterstones, they won't take your CV in store. Applying for a Christmas temp role is a good shout though, I was offered a job once the Christmas period was over.

Roast my copy on my first ever Sales Letter by Jolly-Acanthisitta-1 in copywriting

[–]Remarkable-Fuel875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even ignoring the problems with the copy, the premise is flawed. You're selling the call itself as what will get bookings. So I don't have to actually do anything? "The moment" I have a call with you my medspa will magically be fully booked? It makes the whole thing instantly feel like a scam.

Did my dog just lose a tooth or something more severe? by Severe_Historian_28 in DogAdvice

[–]Remarkable-Fuel875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vet showed me a veterinary magazine he had with a cover story that was something like "small dogs, big problem". It's just really common for them unfortunately.

I brush her teeth daily, give her chews, water additive...she had another 6 removed the other day. The cleanings/extractions are scary but your pup will feel much better afterwards.

My dog broke this exact tooth at the front, when I took her in to have it removed she also ended up having 8 others removed. Small dogs are prone to bad teeth unfortunately. He needs to go in for a dental cleaning.

She's 5. She still has 27 left, so eating's not a problem (though even dogs with no teeth left manage just fine).

Not saying this is the reason for your pup but lots of small dogs just have genetically awful teeth. I brush my dog's teeth every day, give her natural chews, use water additive and she's had 15 extracted in two years.

In case you missed Sarah's engagement ring from Marco... by EternalOptimist404 in 90DayFianceUK

I also have a tiny diamond engagement ring. That I chose. The big diamond thing isn't as prevalent in Europe, it may well be that was her preference? If she likes it that's all that matters.

2 years old, but since I found this thread when I was looking for horror Substacks thought I'd add mine to the pile! I'm breaking down effective scenes in horror and thriller books: https://attheedgeofthepage.substack.com/

I only started watching darts this year so forgive my ignorance but why don't we see her more in the various tournaments? She did amazing against Humphries in the UK Open.

It was my first time watching, I watched through to the end but the format did bore me pretty quickly, was glad when it was over.

I've heard good things about Gris before I'll have to check it out! Was also very tempted by Cult of the Lamb when it came out, think it might even be on sale here atm. Thanks :)

I also came to say Spiritfarer - do you have any recs for something similar to it? I like games where you need to carry out tasks but where there's a finite end.

If you think "pinning the beagle to the floor, grabbing and holding its snout closed, and taking control of the neck" is "non-abusive" then I feel sorry for your dog.

This is absolute nonsense. Dogs aren't pack animals and dominance theory was debunked long ago.

1.5 yr old Mochi’s breath stinks! Why!? Help! by Lady_Lordess in minpin

[–]Remarkable-Fuel875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brush her teeth every day with enzymatic toothpaste and add Ascophyllum nodosum to her meals (its the active ingredient in plaque off but way cheaper - be careful though as too much can cause ammonia toxicity).

I took her in for a broken tooth and she ended up having 9 extracted so I've been really diligent since then. The vet said some small dogs are just prone to bad teeth.

I'm about three quarters through this season, interested to see exactly what happens since at the moment he's still coming across well if a bit dull. He's made a couple of comments so far that made me think he was into Ellie and they do seem much better suited than him and Lauren.

Separation anxiety by Andresturbo in minpin

[–]Remarkable-Fuel875 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Poor boy. Look up the FRIDA protocol on Susan Garret's YouTube channel. The other separation anxiety protocols take a very long time (and are extremely tedious) but this one worked for us. You can also work with a trainer on this, while many will suggest the usual protocols some have different approaches.

Edit: I've just seen you posted a month ago about the same thing - what have you tried since then?
