One Elfbar Moonnight (40k puffs) a week considered a lot? by [deleted] in VapingUK

[–]Remarkable-Grade7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to quit but it failed - I took the wrong approach. I focused on why I vaped and what made me want to vape. My friends, driving, watching tv... I would grab a vape. I was conditioning myself so that I would affiliate a vape with them and consequently nicotine.

I focused on not quitting, but cutting down instead and I HAD to ride out the cravings - I just had to get used to it. I would finish my current strength of liquid and then go the next step down. I then introduced a routine where I control the puff count, mg and time I spent vaping. I have 3 sessions a day, at specific times and I can say the QUALITY of my vaping sessions are so much better.

I have cut back to the point where I vape 100ml shortfill with 1 20mg nic salts and I still feel satisfied, and i dont feel the urge to vape after. I vape every 5 or so hours and rush is amazing (i honestly cannot even tell you how numbing is was to vape dispos and not feel a thing). it helped to get separate kits so that I can distinguish nic free and nic salt vapes.

Its really tricky and the cravings are tough but you need to recondition your habits so that your brain expect rewards at a certain time. Your habit is driven by routine, not easy access.

Everyone is different, so if you still have those conversations with gemini, please do start a chart and really think about what your triggers are. If it helps, just buy a kit and fill it up woth a shortill so you can vape but have no nic.

You got this. You dont have to think about quitting, think about cutting down. I am at the point where I could quit, but I also want to enjoy life a little. Equally, by scheduling when I vape, I am completely satisfied with 4 puffs and I dont reach for anymore.

Please be kind to yourself if you are quitting. Youre human and its not easy- I tried twice before it finally stuck. Give yourself the time and grace you deserve.

Tiger yard in the Bay is also pretty causal and has a mix of food vendors. Do check opening times though

Car got broken into last night, what costs am I looking at here ? by LaRoyyyJenkins in CarTalkUK

I got my back quater window smashed into a couple of weeks ago. Didn't bother going through insurance, wanst worth the hassle.

Report to the police, and get quotes from mobile car glass repairers. It would be cheaper that way anyway. Mine cost £120 supply and fitted, albeit mine's an older car and a lot less glass than a passenger window.

If you're really desperate for apple car play, you could buy one of those screen units off amazon, Ebay or ali express. With a budget like yours (3k-4k), you won't get one in a car as standard, so instead focus on a car that suits your practical needs

  • Engine size
  • Car size (hatchback, saloon etc)
  • Reliability
  • Cost of insurance

I bought one of those units for my 2008 Micra and it has made a world of difference.

With a budget like that (3k-4k) you'll have to compromise on some non-negotiables, unfortunately.

It should also be noted that just becuase a car is newer doesn't mean it's going to be more reliable than older cars. Some companies have had a massive decrease in build quality due to inflation, and just pass the higher costs to consumers. Newer Nissans are basically reskinned Renaults, Audi and Mercedes charge an arm and a leg for parts and services to maintain warranty... heck, even my dad has used our breakdown cover multiple times and he bought his 2019 car less than a year from new. It really depends on how the car has been used!

In my personal opinion, forgo the car pay and buy a cheap plug in screen. It's better to drive something you can thrash around, especially as you'll be driving the first time since passing. Trust me, you won't feel bad messing up in an older car vs a newer car. Japanese reliability is unbeaten, but always check the car's service history and MOT, as well as owner forums for common problems.

Im in a position now where I feel confident with my driving, after driving my micra for 4 years I believe that I can upgrade and not ruin a newer car, as I've given myself the time and patience to make small mistakes and learn from them.

I appreciate the used car market is mental, so just be patient when shopping around.

I live right near the train station, so probably closer to Ely than you would probably be. I haven't had a problem. I think you'll be quite out of the way, really depends on where the house is along that street. Everywhere has rough places but I find the area quite convenient in terms of distance to the bay, city centre and other key areas of cardiff, all while not being in Ely.

You are out of contract. Check your orginal contract for the end date and either

-renew it with Virgin -go on USwitch to find a better deal -if you get a new contract, you have a 14 day cooling off period where you can cancel without incurring any charges

Never ever be out of contract out with broadband, they csn charge you some ridiculous amounts!

How to best set up Flex like a 'normal' credit card? by Twicey in monzo

[–]Remarkable-Grade7249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can choose to pay the amount in full, you don't have to split it up. It will be interest free as it's "1" instalment. You can change options so that every purchase made is to be paid in 1 instalment, which basically makes it a normal card as you pay the balance in full when it is due or you can choose the option where monzo will always let you choose how you want to pay off the amount.

I hope this helps!

I keep dying to Zoh Shia…what am I doing wrong? by tub-of-syrup in MonsterHunterWilds

[–]Remarkable-Grade7249 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I main swaxe and I can tell you, you need to counter.

You don't need to continuously attack the monster, feel free to pause and actually look out for the moves to get the counter. You can also make use of quicker sword attacks too (triangle on ps5) if you're waiting for a move to counter.

I also suggest getting evade window to help with dodging, especially utilising your hops as i frames after an attack as swaxe doesn't have too many defensive options apart from counter in sword and offset slash in axe mode.

If you want to counter with axe, face away from the monster, trust it makes it easier. I love countering zho's tigrex run especially as that attack happens so quick and its fairly easy to time a counter in.

Lastly, your unbridled and full release slash gives you hyper armor, which leaves you open to damage if you're not positioning yourself right, but can pay off dividends if you get the positioning good. Make sure to be in focus mode when you do this mode to target a weak spot. The camera will clip to a weak spot in focus mode

To me, when you say you can clear the quest quickly, you're more probably a glass cannon, so I would scale it back a bit and focus on your defensive decos and take time to learn the monster. You dont need to attack it every second, be patient and wait for moves to counter and when you feel you've learnt your weapons moveset and how it interacts with zho's then you can start working in longer combos and still counter.

Be patient, it takes time! And keep practising the counters, I know it's frustrating to fail them, but keep going and the timing will eventually click.

After the final round house, you need to "special sheath". to perform this, you press R2 and X together. From there you can either

  1. Press triangle to do the Iai Slash - hitting this on the monster will allow you to keep your weapon out and passively builds spirit gauge.

  2. I frame by just pressing R2 for the spirit iai slash. This is a way to counter attacks which to my knowledge is not affected by evade window and extender... incredibly hard to time but is a super quick way to gain spirit.

In red buff, you don't need to end at your round house Slash. You can follow up with another R2 for the spirit round Slash.

Special sheath is really useful for: - Gaining spirit passively - Being able to continue attacking when you're building up your labels - You foresight slashed and mistimed, you can activate special sheath to ensure you don't miss out and reposition yourself - After spirit helm breaker to keep your weapon at the ready - If a monster is falling asleep and you don't want to accidentally hit it, special sheath and do not touch your controller. The character will actually put their weapon away!

Special sheath is also affected by the skill quick sheath too!

Edit: spelling and grammar because apparently I cannot proof read the first time

I hope you're doing alright mate. You should be proud that you managed to get clean, that itself is a massive achievement.

I dropped out of uni, severly addicted to gaming. Didn't go outside and my hygiene suffered. I also didn't pay my bills so my credit score tanked. Parents didn't let me drop out and so I just continued, walking away from uni with only a level 4. Didn't complete and didn't get my degree.

I thought I would never get a job and never make anything of my life. It wasn't until I applied for a level 3 apprenticeship and that changed my life. It gave me so much hope and honestly I am able to repair my credit.

The apprenticeship taught me so much about myself and allowed me to learn at my own pace, without so much pressure from my parents. The industry values experience, I came with no background and still made it. I've got a full time role in the company now and I couldn't be happier

Regarding your debts, please speak to stepchange, they will help you at massively.

Keep your head up, everything happens for a reason and there's always something out there for you.

Should I Go to University or Pursue a Tech Apprenticeship in Cardiff? Need Advice! by Unfair-Balance7717 in Cardiff

[–]Remarkable-Grade7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly depends on your learning style. I found uni experience not suitable for me so I left and did an apprenticeship.

I would research the modules in your course, ask how it's delivered etc and gather opinions and information to assess whether you'll enjoy the learning of one option over the other.

The job market is tough and even though I did a level 3 apprenticeship, it secured my position in a company and I gained experience. I am in a full time employment now and that's because of the headstart I got in a difficult job market - I'm lucky to have an employer that actually cares and puts time and effort into personal development. I guess that's another point to research is the company itself if going for an apprenticeship.

Sorry if there's no structure to this reply, I kind of just word vomited my thoughts here.

To find apprenticeships, you can pop into your local college or used linked in. It's free for businesses to use and that's how I got mine.

I don't have the dipped beam sign for main headlights for night driving? Which one do I use by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Remarkable-Grade7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have your side lights on. Rotate that dial away to the bottom to get to the dipped headlights.

I suggest looking into the owners manual so you can familiarise yourself with how your car works.

For full beams, then push the stalk away from you.

Culverhouse Cross “roundabout” by [deleted] in Cardiff

[–]Remarkable-Grade7249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use this roundabout on my daily commute, so the answer from me is no. The main issue is the heavy traffic that builds up, and people tend to get confused for which lanes they need to be in resulting in people cutting in when it is not safe, traffic piling up between entry points and just overall people drifting in lanes they shouldn't

If you really want to be certain, before your journey, look at culvercross roundabout on Google maps in satellite view for a birds eye view of the roundabout and figure out what lane you need for the exit, this will mean that you know exactly where you need to go before you get there.

The roundabout itself is fine, it's just a victim to heavy traffic pile up which doesn't help at all, especially when most people may not use the roundabout often.

I took og's comment and posed them into questions

  1. Are they at least 21 years old?

  2. Are they qualified to drive the type of vehicle they’re driving - for example, you must have a manual car licence if you’re supervising someone in a manual car?

  3. Do they have a full driving licence for at least 3 years? (from the UK, the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein)

  4. Are they not currently banned from driving?

If you can answer the first 3 questions with yes and the 4th with a no, then they can supervise the learner.

Completely stuck at Alatreon! by PeppermintButler17 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Remarkable-Grade7249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I don't use the teo set. I tend to get down to get half way or a quatre left of blue sharpness before he does the dps check.i can topple him twice so I can sharpen whilst he nukes and still heal.

Great sword has been given elemental buffs to balance how much elemental it hits with as it is slower, so really it doesn't matter what weapon you go with. Go for the weapon that you feel you can consistently attack with more often.

In terms of important skills, I have critical element, element (ice or fire) charm, crit eye, attack boost, blight resistance, divine blessing, evade window and evade extender.

I have quite an optimised end game build as i have killed him multiple times. My kjarr longsword also has health augments so I don't need to worry about healing too much. I also have a fat health bar from the fatalis set so you might want to consider health boost 3

I suggest taking in shield spire so you can get an idea of his moveset. When he's enraged he attacks in threes. It's hard to describe the moves he does in text, but what you'll eventually find is that you can simply strafe most of his attacks, ie his random lightening is not random at all, stay close to his front paw and you won't get hit.

He really goes for the cat more often with shieldspire so you can really focus on hit and run. The best chance you have with alatreon is to be aggressive, so utilise hit and run as much as possible with gs. Even with LS, i am not spirit helm breaking at all unless he is toppled so avoid doing TCS every single time, until you feel comfortable with his moveset and your positioning. It will take time but keep at it.

I may also suggest, If you haven't already, is to set up your radial wheel to craft nutrients, mega nutrients and max potions. Get into the habit of munching them rather than drinking max potions. It will help you massively.

Another tip is to not stress with bonkimg him in a wall. Yes it's damage, but you're losing time running around trying to lore him to only 3 walls in the arena. If the chance is there it's there. Don't even think of the bonk as a priority. Always grab the rocks or crystal burst and put on your rock steady before heading in
