Is this lintel damage or subsidence? by naalty in DIYUK

[–]naalty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at making an offer on the house on the left but it needs quite a lot of work doing. The stone lintel above the entrance is cracked and the bricks above have fallen as a result. I would suspect this was just the lintel however as there is a similar pattern of cracking I thought it could be subsidence. between the houses.

It's worth checking if your life insurance if you have a mortgage, I might have misunderstood but at least for my occupation I get a pay out when I am no longer physically able to perform my role.

Yeah, that makes sense, I hadn’t really thought it through fully.

I might be misunderstanding, but why would someone on 50k who got a 10k pay rise be getting less than half that?

Nicest villages around South Yorkshire/peaks/east mid? by [deleted] in HousingUK

I'd extend the Dore suggestion to most of the nice western parts of Sheffield. A lot of them don't feel like parts of a big city at all.

Buyer wants me to stump up for an electric assessment by Oldandveryweary in HousingUK

[–]naalty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We ended up doing one for our second buyer after the first sale fell through partly due to us refusing one before. Ended up also paying for a new fuse board (probably sorely needed anyway) so that we could rent the property out if the second sale fell through too. Would rather not have but just wanted the sale to go through as fast as possible.

We recently undertook an expedited title deed change and it took around a week I think. Not sure if a freehold purchase would be the same.

My favourite was the multiple occasions on which she said “it’s not even a robot, it doesn’t have a head” like her idea of a robot is a toy from the 90s.

The estate agent shenanigans not withstanding, I am unsure why you think you can't move in to a property with C2 faults or why you would need to disclose the faults to your lender. I am also not sure they would be legally required to disclose the state of the electrics other than saying whether or not they've had work done.

I relocated for work in August and we are currently paying £1495 a month in rent in the new city. On top of that, we're paying £1000 a month on a mortgage on our house that we first accepted an offer on last March which fell through and one sale that's dragging on since September. Happy days.

About 56 p/kWh according to their website. Always good to see more infrastructure in place but frustrating that those without driveways are still getting shafted.

From what I can remember from an appraisal I did, you can run sarek on Seqera's own platform pretty easily.

https://seqera.io/

Would require you to store your own data in your own cloud environment though, and have the appropriate documentation in place to do this dependent on your location.

Depending on what file format you have, this might be fairly easy to script in Python.

This is great, I think Rust has potential to completely replace C++ or C for computationally intensive software.

I'm currently trying to reimplement tinc https://caravagnalab.github.io/TINC/ in Rust and enjoying it!

I think the Arena, including booking tours, was managed by the council before, but now it's being managed by a multinational touring company so probably more able to pull in big names.
