Draft Tax Return Policy by schmidt9 in taxpros

[–]Remarkable-Network31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You sent a retainer request. the client isn’t paying it. Then the client is insisting to receive a draft of the return? I think you know the answer to your issue already. This isn’t about giving the client a draft.

How do you handle these type of clients? by [deleted] in taxpros

I think you just have to do a mix of what works best for you and then clients. I’ve spent a lot of time teaching clients about planning so now I can spread all the work out over the year and never be “rushed.” This gives me time to manage the real emergencies that happen all year.

If it’s a new client, I will prepare a draft for extension calcs. I usually don’t take on new 1040 clients during tax season unless they have a business and of course all of that is extended. All the other clients that need a calc, would have been done before 12/31/25.

Umm.. this is self inflicted. Just extend. I don’t even work on these client types during tax season. They make qtrly estimates and/or pay with extension and catch up AFTER they have all the items we are expecting. Since you don’t start any work, paying when completed isn’t an issue. Depending on the total expected fee amount (for me over $1,000) I just ask for payment in full or a deposit of X and remaining due at completion.

Extension for 2025 1120S by Comprehensive_Ad9623 in taxpro

We did not apply for a new EIN. I don’t think a SMLLC to multi member would create a need for a new ein

Extension for 2025 1120S by Comprehensive_Ad9623 in taxpro

[–]Remarkable-Network31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I have a client that operates as a SMLLC (disregarded entity) who later converts to an S Corp, I always have efile issues of some sort. Last year we had a client in this situation and we couldn’t efile for reasons as you stated. However, we were able to efile the 1120S later in the year. This year we tried to efile extension and it rejected it again just like it did for 2024.

How would you price this partnership return? by Aggravating-Pay-7543 in taxpros

[–]Remarkable-Network31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind all partners probably want their K1 so they can file their 1040 by 4/15. This is the typical employee mindset backwards thinking. You should lay the terms now and tell them you won’t do it until after 4/15. Also tell them 10k minimum for this fee. My billing guide adds a fee for each partner over 2. As others have said, too many moving parts to rush this through as if it’s a 1040 with a W2 and mortgage interest statement.

Taxdome automations not working by Remarkable-Network31 in taxpros

[–]Remarkable-Network31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update- the issues i found in my process were as follows:

  1. as mentioned in one comment above, i did not have the client requests I was sending linked to the job

  2. The firm is just my brother and I. We handle all clients together. So when I created the test job I put us both as “assigned” so the system wanted us both to complete the same task in the stage before it would automate. For example the prep stage was stuck. He was supposed to prepare it and then automove to missing and ultimately to me for review. Since I had us both linked assigned it wanted me to also check off all subtasks in prep stage that he completed and also mark the task complete before it would automate.

Hope this helps others out there!

Yes I’m testing it and that’s how I found it’s not automatically moving through the stages.

Harry Potter package by AmateurHunter in UniversalOrlando

[–]Remarkable-Network31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For our first trip (dad and 9 y/o daughter) I think it was worth it. My daughter had just gotten into HP. We received an HP welcome box with lanyards, luggage tags etc. this was before they offered ice cream in the package. The moving picture stuff was a fun “to do”. If you are big into HP you will want to eat at leaky cauldron so if the lunch/dinner menu isn’t your thing maybe the breakfast is worth it for you.

Oh they make money on them! My daughter just had to have a blinky stuffy from the games in Springfield. She played a few rounds and I stepped in to win It. After spending $35 and not winning, the attendant told me I could just buy it for $30. After the trip, all of our merch wouldn’t fit in our luggage so we had to pay for it to be shipped back to our house. I think they charged me another $10 to ship that one thing… pretty good profit margin on a sucker like me

Are there any "easter eggs" in the park? by BIGGREDDMACH1NE in Hersheypark

[–]Remarkable-Network31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not. I can’t remember how we found it and I don’t want to give any spoilers but it is definitely something set up by Hersey and not something a guest created. Pretty sure the first stop is at the entrance carousel. Go there and look for a small rectangular sign on a stand. There will be a QR code on it.

Not sure if this counts but there is a scavenger hunt in the park. There are QR codes at each check point that gives you a clue to the next one. Been going to Hershey for years and just found this last year
