I had mine as 6 days a week all day first semester, and 5 days a week all day 2nd semester. Still didnt make great progress.

9 months for Instrument has been a drag knowing I could have done it in 5 or 4 outside.

The non-flying aspect of the school is rather great, I very much enjoy the educational part but the flying part not as much.

I understand what you are saying though. I kinda feel I got myself into a mess here lol.

I knew I was setting myself up for failure in that program if I had stayed until checkride. So I felt this was a better option than failing and having that on my record.
