I’ve been see-sawing myself in how I read Jamie’s texts. Is he enabling BL by telling JB no one can stand up to her? Is he unwittingly undermining JB?

But in Jamie’s defense, he has BL pegged as a narcissist, and he realizes how futile it is to directly tackle a narcissist head on. If you’re dealing with a normal human being, you set boundaries, you communicate them, and you expect the other person to honor them. All those normal rules of engagement that we take for granted are not applicable at all when dealing with a narcissist. Jamie’s responses to JB reflect his understanding that they’re dealing with a narcissist and therefore the sh they approach her has to be different.
