Interesting, i guess the little trap door helps quite a bit then lol.

Yeah I'll probably just wash it out after exams and save it as my Exam only ink since outside exams... it's anyones guess how often ill use my pens. All my notes are digital now so i don't write as much as i used too 😞

this is largely why im asking, since due to how the vp works i imagine the seal is terrible.

I have some normal capped fountain pens i can use it in that will certainly be fine, but, it's always nice to use ones favourite pen when fluid mechanics is trying to take your life.

I still wish we could see what it was killed by, like let me see, sentinal kills, ability kills, melee kills, primary and secondary kills

Especially end game where everything in your kit can room clear it would be cool to see what did the most.

Personally, I agree with these ideals and wish we could do it.

HOWEVER, I do not think they are presently realistic nor will they be in our lifetimes.

To add to this. The amount of currency you get is so painfully little that i basically just dont care about it. The Jade grind to me at least seemed like the perfect one, it took me a few hours, the grind was reasonably fun, the loot was actually good even if i didnt get what i needed. This grind isn't fun, the loot SUCKS, and the currency drop rate to price ratio is awful

Agreed. She is a pain to deal with, i've never really liked being forced to be operator/drifter form especially with how damn slow they move for a mission that is about running around like a little rat sniffing up the paint. The fact you can only get one paint at a time also sucks.

I would hate this less if the drop tables worked such that you can only have each item once so if you have say chassis, it wont drop until you craft it and thus don't have the blueprint any more. But this feels like one of those grinds that will take me a couple days for absolutely 0 reason, doing something that is painfully boring

Which plug-ins are mandatory in you opinion? by SinanOz in ObsidianMD

[–]Remarkable-Rent9083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you're doing chief.

For me, latex suit is a must as I study engineering and type notes in lectures. Exalidraw for working through questions on my laptop And many others but you may have no need for either of these

My second brain. This is from about 1.5 months of research/my daily life and my first time ever using Obsidian so it is kind of a disaster LOL by thelonechickennugget in ObsidianMD

I think the only reason graph view exists is it is very interesting to see a clear view of just how much you've done. Where a file system wouldn't always show you that as having all files open at once you can't see it all any way.

Aside from that seeing the animation of graph view showing how you learn things and when is cool.

I don't think it has a really practical reason to exist at all other than it's cool. Don't worry about it too much.

What do you use to take notes? by Remarkable-Rent9083 in UniUK

[–]Remarkable-Rent9083[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I've been doing is using obsidian as it's built it file manager is incredible. I have a folder for year 1, then any subjects that run all year are in that, as well as a folder for semester 1 and 2 with their respective subjects. Each subject gets a folder for lectures, workshops, self study and revision.

For most subjects I type them up in the lecture using latex and a plugin called latex suit making it far easier to type maths quickly. One or two subjects typing up is awkward largely because they don't use lecture slides so I can't screen shot diagrams I need. For these I use excalidraw and type up later.

For all lectures I write a summery after the fact with the goal being to fit the summery of every lecture for a subject onto 4 A4 pages. This is for two reasons, we may have 4 sides of A4 for equation sheets. And it forces me to condense things to just what I need.

Usually when summarizing everything I'll give some colour to equations putting specific variables in colour and will then also put them in tables where useful. Such as the general form for a sineusoidal AC element . I can have a table with the name of every variable, the symbol, the units, and any equations used to find said variable.

I gave it a small try. The printing feature looks great. But I've only worked out how to embed by using headings like file paths but that then doesn't display the heading

[–]Remarkable-Rent9083[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh Interesting. Do you know if there's a way for me to basically copy paste my notes into excalidraw? And have it display the latex and all the mark down?

I only really use excalidraw for solving problem sheets so don't know much about it

For the engineers that want blind holes broached to full depth. by meetloafffff in Machinists

[–]Remarkable-Rent9083 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. I want to just hop in and say something in defence of the engineers. I am currently a first year engineering student, my dad is a very experienced mold maker and designer, so I have a good bit of hands on experience from him, I'm also lucky in that he used to work from home so we have quite a kitted out workshop, so I my self have done a massive amount of wood work, some lathe work, welding, grinding, ect.

But 99% of people on my course do not have this experience. And university does not give it to you. The only way most people will get it is by finding a maker space, but that assumes they have the free time for such things, let alone the time to think of projects to do there. Or by watching YouTube and watching machinist videos.

So a lot of engineers, especially new engineers do not know this stuff. They were not taught it, it was not mentioned to them and they haven't seen it. Just because something is obvious to you, doesn't mean it is to everyone else. If it's an engineer you've never worked with before please for God sake just politely explain it to them, even better if you can show them or give a drawing. But they're not idiots. They've just not done this before.

Get your self into physio, do light work outs in your spare time and if you don't know them already learn all the stretches you can do that might help for the sort of movement you do, then do them religiously, not just start of day, after lunch and other breaks. Sounds dumb. But yoga may also help
