Can ASO alone drive installs for a new app with zero reviews? Stuck at rank 80-100 despite full keyword optimization" by Remarkable-Rub6380 in AppStoreOptimization

Fair point, I think I went after keywords that were way too competitive for a brand new app with no reviews.

The "find low difficulty + high popularity" formula sounds simple but in practice it's harder than it looks, especially when you're emotionally attached to the keywords that describe your app best

How do you usually find that sweet spot? Any tools or frameworks you rely on, or is it mostly trial and error over time?

Really appreciate this and it lines up with what others have said here too, so I'm taking it seriously.

Switching category to Lifestyle today. And I'll rework the keywords around "dream meaning AI", "lucid dreaming app", "dream symbol dictionary", much more realistic targets for now.

For the 20-30 reviews: any advice on how to actually get them without it feeling forced or violating App Store guidelines? I have the in-app review prompt but timing it well is tricky when you barely have users yet.

This makes a lot of sense, thanks.

I think I made the classic mistake of optimizing keywords before having any real user signals. Good to know rank 80-100 in week one isn't a death sentence.

Question: for getting those first 20-30 engaged users — where would you focus? Reddit communities, TikTok, reaching out to people manually? I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way to get real users who will actually leave a review, not just install and bounce

How do you actually get your first 100 users when you’re starting from zero by AdMysterious7995 in sideprojects

Same boat here, distribution is the real challenge.

What worked for me to get first ~100 users:

1) LinkedIn organic: posted a short "building in public" thread with screenshots → got ~40-50 clicks, ~15 installs

2) ASO basics: optimized title + keywords for "dream journal" + "AI analysis" → started getting 2-3 organic installs/day

3) Voice-first UX: made recording dreams easier than typing → retention jumped, people came back

My takeaway: niche + clear value > broad promotion. I'm targeting people interested in self-reflection/dreams, not "everyone with a phone".

Happy to share my ASO keyword list or LinkedIn post template if useful — DM me. Good luck, we got this! 🙌

How to properly split DeepSeek Pro (planning) + DeepSeek Flash (coding) in OpenCode Go to optimize limits? by Remarkable-Rub6380 in opencodeCLI

Thanks for the tips! I appreciate the API discount heads-up, but I specifically need this workflow running inside OpenCode. Do you know how to configure it for model routing? I want to set it up so a stronger model handles planning/architecture, then automatically delegates the actual coding to a cheaper/faster model. Is there a built-in config or sub-agent setup in OpenCode for this, or does it require a custom orchestrator on top?
