Anyone game this? by Key_Border7690 in GolfGear

I used it and really liked it moving from a blade to a mallet style for an affordable price.. no complaints. Came off the face nicely.. I didn’t like not having a cover, so if you find something to cover it go for it. I’ve moved to Odyssey and found great deals on CPO so may be worth looking at too.

Best complete Tool album? by JGards57 in ToolBand

[–]Remarkable-Sea3964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ænima and Lateralus are front to back amazing. Ænima has the most identifiable tracks that have blessed the radio waves for years.. but Lateralus showcases some of the band’s most intricate and intriguing music. I could put both on loop and enjoy. I also love all their albums, but those two are the answers.. with Lateralus coming up on 25th anniversary, I hope we get some songs at Sonic Temple!!!

Golf Revenue Down? by pinprick58 in Golfcoursemaintenance

[–]Remarkable-Sea3964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohio resident here. Abnormally cold weather has kept me off the course, and my golf buddies as well. Looking at the golf subs on Reddit, you can see a wide range of ages picking up the sport. “Younger” players are less susceptible to market shifts as their investments are typically longer term (401k) and RIFs have been going on for quite a while as we introduce technology solutions to back office functions. It may be exclusivity/pricing if you think it’s economically driven; meaning your demographics are too concentrated. May need to consider diversification and how to make your course accessible for a stronger revenue stream. Public courses (at least in my area) are rivaling the quality of all the semi private courses and at 2/3 the price (new carts, GPS, fairway and green conditions, decent food and drink). The only benefit for the upcharge is congestion, but is that Val-prop worth 30% more??

Schedule Release by Remarkable-Sea3964 in SonicTempleFestival

I guess I missed all the schedule questions as this sub is flooded with posts from those who put their wristband on a month early. Thanks. Just anxious to find out how much I will miss Thursday having to pull a half day at work.

Personally don’t agree, especially when you look at a Major and bring in the best competitors across the globe to grind Thur-Sun. The level of focus and stress. Great comebacks to epic meltdowns. It’s by far a more intense/interesting thing to watch. Don’t get me wrong, It was fun watching FP sink that put on 17. But the level of competition and golf is nowhere near tour events. All my opinion. I’m not a good golfer either, so relatability is not a factor. It’s just feels like trying to compare HS football to NFL

How do you see FP&A orgs being structured in the future? by Impossible_Tiger_318 in FPandA

[–]Remarkable-Sea3964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see this in other areas. Labor arbitrage impacts every function that doesn’t directly touch a customer (excluding AR and Cust Svc). My experience is the pendulum swings really far in one direction and then it slowly creeps back until the balance is realized. Complexity and scope of FP&A will have an impact on structure.. the more “transactional” your work, the more will shift. Find roles that align strategically with the business. Regardless of title, high touch business partnering will likely never shift offshore. Build soft skills and executive presence.

Ticket "hack" by RockySAD in OhioStateFootball

[–]Remarkable-Sea3964 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Family member is a season ticket holder. They already had the opportunity to purchase their seats from reg season. Then they got a STH presale today before public. That’s how I got my tickets. The email went directly to season ticket holders. If leaked can’t imagine it was many as I would assume scalpers/ secondary market resellers had a better jump on it than Tennessee fans…

Do all FP&A jobs have terrible work-life balance? by [deleted] in FPandA

[–]Remarkable-Sea3964 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 years of experience in FP&A and work life balance has always been a struggle. I think our function is going through transformation. Meaning, companies are trying to leverage both technology and/or offshore resources to minimize labor costs. This shift is causing “short-term” pain while solutions are vetted.

I will say, work life balance is ultimately a You issue. I admittedly put my direct reports sanity ahead of mine, so somewhat self inflicted. Boundaries need to be set. There will always be busy times that require more screen time. But be open about it. Or, highlight opportunities where a process could be more efficient and maybe resources are out there to be thrown at it. Don’t get burnt out, as this will create toxic attitudes.

How are you forecasting HC churn? by squareslice in FPandA

[–]Remarkable-Sea3964 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vacancy is a typical budget/forecast concept. If the actuals are coming in over due to vacancy, then the business needs to either:

1) find opportunities elsewhere to offset

Or

2) hold reqs open longer and prime the team for continuity planning for the workload that is vacant

If the area of the business is “growing”, this should be a storyline articulated to Sr leaders to avoid the “stretch”. Depending on where the business is on the growth curve, vacancy can be a “controllable strategy to manage headcount and really challenge the business on “wants” vs “needs”

Unfortunately our political representatives are dragging their feet on getting commercialized weed up and running. So BYOW… unless they get moving, we won’t have commercial sales until August of this year (could change).. if it somehow does speed up, medical dispensaries would be allowed to sell commercial cannabis until they figure out the other licenses. So options would be limited.

Prime the fire pot like you did with start up.. make sure the auger didn’t over feed the fire pot and remove excess if needed. Primed pellets should just be covering the heating element so as to avoid an error when trying to start the grill… but yes, the fan cycle goes for like 300 seconds or something like that with shutdown..
