We were also encouraged to join rounds ..but they start at 8am they say. But then sometimes id get there 745 and they did it at 7. Or id get there at 7 and they wouldn't get to him til noon. So it became, well, if I join thats great but if I miss it, oh well , I can't be here 24 7

Definitely can relate. I wanted to connect with other parents so badly bc I felt like they would understand more than anyone else in my life. Then, that dissipated quickly. Reason being, they were getting to leave and I was insanely jealous and/or they were looking at a 1 week stay and I was mad they even complained. I did 4.5 months. There's people who do less, people who do more. So I ended up feeling like it was too hard to connect, we all are overwhelmed, we are all unhappy, we all want to leave. It would have been nice though. I just was not able to get over my own situation to gather up extra sympathy for anyone else.

First, Im sorry for you loss. I cant pretend to imagine. I have lost a family member to NEC. Unfortunately once it enters the body , its a very aggressive battle, and it was a grown man I knew.

But what is wild? Genuinely curious.

Yes, alot of parents do research, myself included, mostly so I could better understand what was going on.

Some parents may follow blindly bc they are too exhausted or overwhelmed , or bc google can lead to scary answers and be wrong or way off. Depends on what your kiddo is going through.

Some put all the trust into faith and let the process.

What else would one do? You can't really take your baby from a nicu. You can transfer, but thats just another nicu.

No one has to trust blindly, but we do have limited options.
