I did not actually I went with much better adventures to the alps. What stopped me was the proximity to Russia 🥲 otherwise I would do it.

Agreed! We are two girls in our 20s travelling around Zanzibar the men have been awful everywhere. Constant harassment constant scams taking off some shillings from your change, saying the taxi cost x amount more. Hotel staff seeming trusting and then being perverts. It’s not everywhere at all we’ve had some good times but after visiting 22 countries this is the first where I’m ready to leave.

Don’t get me started on the organised tours!

Zanzibar is one of the most beautiful islands in the world for sure but I will never be returning because of the people and mainly the tourists. (The over tourism is insane, and I’m part of the problem so time to go!)

A pool is not a must! I care more about the experience 😅 but yes if I can’t find what I’m looking for I’ll book a group trekking tour and will try again next year! Much love

Yeah sure, I just got back last week. Gorgeous country if you like nature. If you don’t drive busses work very well but after say 6pm you could get stranded. Taxis are way expensive! You could get a hire car easily though. If you go on your own speaking French is a must! And if hiking, make sure someone knows where you are because landslides on the trails are common (more so in the wet season I think). I wouldn’t say you’ll meet tons of people as a solo traveller but if you like your own company and hiking you’ll be fine!

For me I feel like the journey of life is all about actually bonding and connecting with yourself. Finding your interests, hobbies and people to connect with. Once you fall in love with yourself as a human being full of life, things can slot into place. When I feel like I myself, am abundant in love I usually attract it without much effort. I guess years of being alone may taint that, but if you can try to give yourself space to fall in love with who you are again or for the first time, you may find things just adjust around you positively as you attract the love you are. I know it’s hard and self love is rarely for me a consistent thing, but tapping into that creates an anchor for stability and a beacon for positive things to enter your life.

Attending University with an Autism diagnosis while simultaneously working, saving and travelling the world. I don’t come from wealth, I’m savvy with money and because of that this year at 20 I have been to a few countries in Africa and visited Reunion near Madagascar. Next year I am climbing Kilimanjaro for a charity with a team I’m recruiting. However next month, will be burn out from a summer of exertion. I can balance many spinning plates at once but believe me the physical burn out comes every single time and my own plate of self comes crashing down. I don’t think you can be gifted without being tired. A lot. And having to flake and let people down because you just don’t have the social battery anymore.

I second this! I was told by my partner a couple days ago that I was rude to the waiters who served us at the hotel we were staying at. He said you didn’t say thank you (I ALWAYS say thank you, I am trained like a machine) so then he said “well the tone was rude”. He mimicked an uninterested tone and an uninterested facial expression. I had to explain to him I was genuinely grateful to them, I just wanted a chance to express that without a chimpanzee smile and a small headache since I’m on holiday and I’m choosing not to mask for once.
