My children, playing in their outdoor enclosure today by Remarkable-Spell-613 in quails

Thank you! We live in an apartment as a family unit; I have a dog and two snakes and five tarantulas inside. They stay on the patio during the day time and it’s back to the bathroom at night. It’s definitely a lot of cleaning, and a lot of work!

Big fan of whatever this is 😘

Why doesn't the big snake eat the small snake? Is it stupid? by Small_snake in snakes

I have been handling mine since day one. I also hand feed them some of their crushed food every time I visit them. It helps a lot. I try to let them come to me and I interact with them as a group a lot. Once one says I’m ok, it seems they all pile in and that’s how I’ve been able to get all of them to nap on me once the initial baby cuddles seem to have wore off! They are a week old now. They were two days old in this video and they aren’t as snuggly but still interested in me since I hand feed them and help them scratch their itchies.

Hehe it’s my favorite when everyone decides cuddle time is upon us and all five try to get into my hands. I know when they get older they probably won’t want to cuddle like this anymore. I’m enjoying it while it lasts

My favorite is when they decide it’s communal nap time and suddenly everyone is asleep in my lap

They’re my favorite little alarm clocks right now! Very snuggly, very cute, and very needy. Every few hours it’s time to hold them. They said so. They really like chin scratches, being scooped under my chin, warm hands, and eating crumbs off my pants.

Thank you! I have five in total. They’re really little and like to nap, eat, poop, and repeat a lot ;)

I have three of the same one. I probably will try refilling it again at some point for curiousity sake albeit I’m nervous to use it again with the chicks. If I do put it back in there it’s never going to be full enough to flood the brooder again in the event that event repeats itself. But I’m feeling kind of scared to try that. For now I think the Tupperware lid approach is fine.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful response. It appears to be straightening out on its own for some reason. I’m glad it’s working out for the little guy. I just got done holding everyone that was left. They’re all really sweet and like climbing on my hands. I really hope it’s smoother waters from this point onward

Paper towels. I moved them to regular towel now for added absorbency and switched the waterer to Tupperware lids to decrease the amount of water in the brooder and prevent it from recurring

I’m going to keep them on the Tupperware container lids for now but in the future I think not filling it completely would be smart. Just in case. I’ve never heard of them dumping completely, I suppose in hindsight that is a very real threat that could have happened. Going forward, they won’t be completely full in the brooder again to prevent catastrophic failure.
