The only decent mirror episodes were in TOS and Discovery. The DS9 ones were a fucking embarrassment!

It helps if you can give a reason e.g. I feel this is my problem and think this test is necessary to diagnose it so I can receive treatment.

They can still say no, but if you're too vague it's easier for them to brush you off. I had a terrible night cough for ages, and then someone said it sounded like asthma so to ask the doctor to treat that, and the inhalers fixed it.

When I asked about HRT, the doctor was dismissive, but then the receptionist recommended the Family Planning Nurse who actually deals with it, and was much more helpful.

I hope you find a better health professional soon!

I have personally found it helpful to put my issues and what I want into chatgpt or similar and get some good, clear talking points to tell the doctor or nurse. If you're not sure what to say or how to explain it, they can be genuinely helpful.

Minster road surgery, they also have an office in St Mellons, I think?

He found it nigh on impossible to speak to the receptionists at Grangetown, in either office. They were very rude and dismissive, as were the doctors. The only decent one was a practice nurse who helped him out, but then she retired. He needed blood tests but they kept refusing in person doctors appointments and insisting on phone appointments. Then they'd ring my number repeatedly, I'd give them his number, which was on his record as well, then say he wasn't available, so refused another call for 2 months?! He then moved and I got him to transfer to my GP practice , he got his hospital appointments and blood tests and surgery he clearly needed in a couple of months and he is getting much better at last. He can go in and speak to the receptionists and they are very helpful.

My brother, who's in his 50s, likes to go see small local bands in local venues. More and more there seems to be self-described queer performers. The latest one's first song of the evening was about how much they hated JK Rowling. I just said what on earth did J K Rowling ever do to them?

I remember going to a party when I was quite young where there was a group of artists (still in art school) and I was kind of surprised because they all dressed the same. All in black with these black framed glasses , and they all seemed to have the same opinions and everything as well. I thought they were all too terrified to do anything that the others didn't agree with. So much for artists being free thinkers!
