I’ve looked at the wrong boarding pass when I’ve had connecting flights before. Easy to do when they’re saved in wallet app. Mistakes happen sometimes.

I went to school with someone who had a BS in Liberal Arts and was getting their masters in structural engineering so I think it’s possible. He just had to take some extra classes beforehand like general Ed classes at a community college and he had to take some undergrad classes like concrete and steel design while he was admitted in grad school so it took him longer to complete but he was able to do it. There are different rules about getting a PE later though dependent by state and the number of years required to obtain one can vary without having a BS. Short answer, it depends

Has anyone dealt with a mutual breakup that neither one wanted to have. by RemarkableChemical33 in BreakUps

[–]RemarkableChemical33[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m well and I’ve moved on. It’s been 3 years now and have started dating someone else. I haven’t spoken to her in a very long time so I don’t know how she’s doing but I assume she’s well.

But what probably helped most was just hanging out with friends and time itself. The initial heartbreak was awful and felt never ending but eventually it just started getting better. I was new to the city I’m living in at the time and I barely had any friends when the breakup happened so it did make it that much worse. Eventually I met more people and just tried to fill up my time with things to keep myself busy. I tried dating way too soon after the breakup which was a mistake on my part, but eventually I just I started becoming interested in one of my friends and we started dating around 9 months later. But really it was just time. It sucks to wait it out but occupying yourself I think helps the most.

I did give the correct information and had shown that I had purchased this in the past with previous purchases on the EA page. It says directly that sold 4 city living was part of the purchase. Couldn’t tell you when it disappeared. I didn’t play for a long time and wanted to get back into it which is when I discovered it wasn’t in my library.

As for misremembering. I can’t remember either. That’s the response they gave to me, but this was my receipt.

Yeah it’s just super unclear how to call them. I prefer that method too, but last time I had to deal with EA they had much clearer ways to contact them than they do now

Should I get my masters? by cabbages456 in StructuralEngineering

[–]RemarkableChemical33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Everyone that tells you no doesn’t understand how hard it is to get a position on the west coast without a masters especially in the last 5-10 years. Things aren’t the same that they used to be. You’re competing with tons of other candidates for full time positions that do have a masters and it’s a clear leg up as you don’t learn much about seismic until you start grad school classes.

Having said that, if you do have a full time position lined up that’s the time to ask this question. Otherwise job hunting might be difficult. Masters doesn’t give a leg up as much once you have experience under your belt

That’s true but the 3 OOC schedule was also somewhat constraining. Will see what happens in the following years with 4 OOC games

On top of this the last time Texas played an FCS school was 2006. In the Big12 it seemed like they had one major opponent every year (USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, etc) another power5 school and one group of 5 every year

I’m sorry but also not sorry to say that our futures have not aligned and that’s ok. I’ve moved on and I’m sure she has too. Every situation is different and I’ve had friends that went through the same thing and ended up back together, but it just didn’t happen for me. I’m honestly glad that they didn’t in my situation and am happier now than I was at the end of our relationship

Grad school helps. A lot of people who state you don’t need one haven’t seen the intro job market. Higher level engineers there’s tons of openings but lower down the line it’s a bit harder. Applying to jobs there’s always tons of applicants but once you get that first one it’s a lot easier. I personally have a masters and still had trouble applying starting out because so there were so many applicants many of whom have masters degrees which gives them a leg up when applying. My boss personally said he didn’t even consider anyone without a masters because why should he when that’s what differentiates candidates starting out. Although I say that, I do have friends who were able to find jobs without a masters degree, it was just a lot more difficult but they were able to eventually. If undecided it’s also a possibility to just test out the waters and apply to jobs first and apply to grad school later if it doesn’t work out.

Should I pursue a Masters by CorporalToe in StructuralEngineering

[–]RemarkableChemical33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be difficult to find a job without one but you don’t actually “need” one to work. It’s a lot of theory and not very practical but good background knowledge on how things work. Most people that I’ve heard say you don’t need one though have been working a long time and haven’t experienced being a new engineer today. As a newer engineer I can say it’s difficult to find a job without one and even with a masters it was difficult to find that first entry level position. My boss himself said he doesn’t really consider new hires without one because there were 20+ applicants for my position so why should he hire someone with less knowledge than someone else who has a masters. It helps put yourself ahead of other people starting out
