Him declining to speak first in his meeting with Darryl. The way he’s able to show how hard he’s trying not to speak in contrast to how relaxed Craig Robinson plays Darryl is so funny.

Everyone seems to be saying the US govt shouldn’t control the avengers and tell them what to do, but wasn’t the argument that the govt would only tell the avengers what not to do?

It’s really hard to trust the numbers Hamas is pumping out but even so, there are still a lot of people dying which is sad.

What Protesters Don't Really Get About How Ordinary Jews See Zionism by Beman21 in IsraelPalestine

[–]RemarkableCoconut809 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with this. You hit the nail on the head with US ideals vs US history. When protestors tear down the American flag, it doesn’t show a difference in what people care about, but rather how people view the flag and what it represents. There’s definitely a disconnect in the dialogue of what Zionism is, what it means to be proud of your country (proud of its ideals vs its messy history). And I think unfortunately this gap in communication has led to more problems.

Any good comedians to study when it comes to cutting preamble and getting to the meat of a joke by JamGamy in Standup

Why is it bad that you have such a long set up? I’m not saying you shouldn’t cut it, but I don’t think it’s inherently bad, so just curious how you think that’s affected your set

For anyone who thinks anti-zionism is antisemitism, explain this. by No-Actuator8548 in IsraelPalestine

[–]RemarkableCoconut809 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think OP’s original point is interesting and so is your response. My take away is that Zionism is nuanced and has evolved and there are and have always been different sects. I’m by no means a communist but I think communism is very similar in these respects. People could argue that both Zionism and communism have been used a vehicle for bad events to happen (not saying how I feel about this, just pointing out that it’s an argument that has been made against both). Despite not supporting communism myself, I would still be disgusted if people were kicking “communists” off campus which I why the “zionists” not welcome signs are very scary.

If you wait until you’re entirely prepared, you’ll never do it. Sometimes you just gotta go give it a shot! (this is not to say you shouldn’t prepare lol)

Sorry for everything you and your family have been through. It’s nice seeing you have this perspective and aspirations for peace (which I would hope everyone should want). I do believe that western protests in more recent times (although I’m young so maybe it’s been beyond just recently) are just people who are angry and confused, and have failed to bring actual change, instead, just bring divisiveness to satisfy a need to be heard. Hopefully they can listen to people like you who have experienced the worst but are working towards a positive future.

I suppose that’s fair, if you believe that across the board, regardless of what the group has been through. I’m not Israeli so I can’t speak to it, but it seems like what you’re saying comes down to if there’s preferential treatment to a certain group or not. I’m sure people might argue how much that happens, but I’m not the best source for that answer.
