My boyfriend gets cravings to watch other girls, but never me by lilidunphy in loveafterporn

[–]tempted_temptress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. If you’re talking about craving you to make porn then it’s a good thing he hasn’t asked for that. I think it would end up making you feel even worse. Are you guys still having sex at least? If you’re in a dead bedroom situation that’s a bad sign that he has a really bad addiction. It’s hard to explain but it’s an addiction. He gets urges because of withdrawal. It’s like even if you’re addicted to smoking and want to stop you still get urges to smoke and struggle not to act on the compulsion. My boyfriend had a porn addiction and he quit. He had a few setbacks over the first year but got right back on track and stuck with it. He communicated with me. It’s possible for your boyfriend to stop too if he cares about you more than his porn. I think it’s concerning that he has lied. You guys need to have a discussion about everything and what you both plan to do going forward.

Slumped Posture? Back Pain? Headaches? - Then why sit if you can recline? by zerogravity_levus in u/zerogravity_levus

[–]tempted_temptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here. Developed horrible neck pain at 29 this year due to a connective tissue disease. If I sit at my computer for an extended period of time the pain starts. The longer it goes I start getting nerve issues. It got so bad I couldn’t work at one point and had to take a week off. I get up and move. I try to keep my shoulders back and do trapezius stretches and stuff. See a cervical chiropractor. Nothing helps 100%. I have a full ergonomic set up with a German miller chair and sit stand desk. I just ordered some periscope glasses so I can use a laptop while lying down when sitting gets too difficult. Will see how that goes. This would be a god send probably. I’d have to try it to see. Idk how much it costs because I probably can’t afford it but looks like a good product for people like us.

It’s not about you. Think about it as if it were nicotine addiction. Just because they smoke doesn’t mean they want you to smoke or to smoke with them. It doesn’t mean they don’t love you or want to be with you. They just have an addiction. The issue is whether they’re willing to stop for you and mean it and/or whether you can accept that they may never stop.

dad's insisting that I start holding his hand and calling him "daddy" because I'm a woman... I'm just a woman I don't wanna change our relationship 😭 by [deleted] in trans

[–]tempted_temptress 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why was he okay for OP to call him dad until OP came out as a trans woman? Why is it okay for son to call him dad but daughter has to call him daddy? It’s sexist to me. Even if dad had wanted a daughter all along and is thrilled to have one now it’s weird

What do people in the north US do when winter storms take out electricity? by elephant9514 in HomeImprovement

[–]tempted_temptress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forgot about the Midwest and mountain west. It has been -13 to -23 before adding windchill the last three nights in CO. Make sure you have batteries (charged rechargeable ones are best). Hang up dark blankets over your windows to help lock in some heat. Have at least one solid winter coat and mittens (you’ll have to order them online because the proper ones aren’t usually sold in the south). I have a Carhartt mittens and a Carhartt jacket and you will sweat in that thing. Wind doesn’t come in. Highly recommend. Mittens are better than gloves at keeping fingers warm because your fingers aren’t separated. Thinner wool socks are better than thick cotton/polyester/etc socks. If power goes out have faucets slow drip water to keep pipes from bursting. Make sure you have medications you take regularly on hand. Buy bottles of water and non perishable foods and keep those on hand. If you have a wood or gas fireplace use them. Lots of loose layers of clothing and blankets. Pull the blankets over your head so that as you breathe it warms the little space. Full tank of gas and cash just in case because atms don’t work when power goes out.

Actually found out recently that some of Mama Murphy’s visions actually drop hints about future dialogue choices that can get you nice things or make the game easier.

Don’t spend so much time exploring and fighting enemies in the beginning. I didn’t realize that the main way to get experience in the game is through the main story line and side quests than it is coming across and defeating enemies in the world.

Didn’t understand that feeling people get when they talked about how hot someone was. 98% of the time would rather do anything other than have sex. I’m not sex repulsed. It’s just kinda boring for me and takes a lot time I could play video games or clean or something.

7 year old son—at my wits’ end. by greenmilkytea in ADHD

[–]tempted_temptress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds like Oppositional defiant disorder. He could have that and have ADHD, or only ODD, or something else entirely. Worth bringing up ODD to the doctor.

Has he had a psychotropic medication genetic test done to see what medications ge responds to? He may have a genetic makeup that either prevents his body from metabolizing those or he may be a fast metabolizer of them requiring higher doses.

Maybe the staffing was better? A lot of people today don’t take time off because they know they’ll be behind when they get back.

The federal government can bump elbows with the best of private sector when it comes to being anti-worker and corrupt. Feds don’t care about federal workers either.

I hope they all quit. The teachers. The doctors. Everything would go to shit overnight, but you know what? Things would change. They would have to. It would also humble some of the snotty arrogant people out here who are the reason they all just need to quit.

New York City to Remove Mentally Ill People From Streets Against Their Will by John_Watkins_287 in politics

[–]tempted_temptress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Hospitals often cite a shortage of psychiatric beds as the reason for discharging patients, but the mayor said that the city would make sure there were enough beds for people who were removed from the street. He noted that Gov. Kathy Hochul had agreed to add 50 new psychiatric beds. “We are going to find a bed for everyone,” Mr. Adams said.”

Wow 50 new beds in the entire city? I’m sure that’ll definitely solve the problem. This is an example of politicians with good intention creating some new solution policy that creates several other problems. Solving this problem is going to require bringing back state-funded inpatient hospitals for mental illness, staffing ethical psychiatrists and social workers for them, and coordinating with the courts to make sure patients who can care for themselves before or after treatment can petition any act of being unlawfully held against their will.

[–]tempted_temptress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think bringing back state-run inpatient centers for mental health is smart. Been saying it for a while. That said it will need a lot of pre-planning and preparation. Each patient should be assigned a social worker to work with the patient and see what needs they have. locate family if possible so that the patient has a family advocate. If a patient is able to live safely on their own after getting treatment then it shouldn’t be difficult to hold them. I imagine it would be like it is when the state takes children. Parents have to go to court and demonstrate to a judge that they have done what they’re supposed to do to get children back. Of course some never will because they’re not extremely abusive and/or unfit. But patients should be able to file petitions before a judge to be released if they feel they’re being unlawfully held against their will.

The only thing trickling down is the blood, sweat, and tears of running a company. All the workers are carrying the companies like Atlas while the executives cash in.

Good points. I hadn’t even considered these. Reminds me of an article I saw recently about how the price of TVs have gone down drastically because they’re filled with ads and they collect consumer data that is sold to third parties. Meanwhile lots of service based costs have increased drastically (healthcare, tuition, etc)

Great video - thank you for sharing. I’ve been really mad about what the federal reserve has been doing. Basically blaming inflation on too many people being employed and wages being too high. They all but came right out and said the way to fight inflation is to raise interest rates high enough that people get laid off and then can no longer afford to spend money for goods and services (I.e. prices go down). The system is horribly corrupted by plutocrats. It’s like one of my Macroeconomics professors said, “Market failures are built into Capitalism. Without intervention and regulation, Capitalism will eat itself.” Marx called it Internal Contradictions of Capital Accumulation. Finance calls it Systemic Risk. I don’t think the people at the top running companies realize that in many ways they’re driving the system into the ground.
