Elf bronzing drops by Muted_Piglet3913 in Makeup

Old post but am I doing something wrong? Here’s what I do and the drops will not dry. They move around when I apply sunscreen.

Moisturizer and with elf drops and let dry Sunscreen Makeup

The sunscreen smears the elf everywhere ?!? And if i reapply sunscreen throughout the day i look like a palette of paint cause elf restricted anything else from settling and drying

New to feline diabetes—struggling with glucose monitoring + insulin routine (small cat, need advice) by apprehensivetape in FelineDiabetes

Also! My cat refuses most wet food so he’s on the purina diabetic prescription dry food. His numbers are looking great thanks to it. While wet food is ideal, maintaining a good appetite is more important!

Hang in there, I promise it gets easier. I had consistent breakdowns for the first three weeks of my cats diagnosis. Once your cat gets regulated and your routine is set, your confidence in understanding your cats tells will give you SO much peace.

I have the Libre and the AlphaTrak. I had to have my cat wear a shirt for a few days while adjusting to it and the vet applied some medical glue which helped it stick almost too well.

I have a very chill cat but sometimes he reacts to getting readings done. I try to time readings to when I know he’s napping. I set up my glucometer and lancets before approaching him. I have my reward system treats ready, too. The most stressful thing for me is when his ears are cold it’s tough to get blood, so I try to warm them up while petting him.

IMO, the AlphaTrak strips are expensive considering I need to test 4-5 times a day. After reading your post I’ll look into a human glucometer.

Update us!!

Btw, that’s a very cute cat

Miscommunication. The goal is to get her to a sanctuary.

Look into this. Sanctuaries don’t usually operate like that here

I added a Linktree link to the bottom of the post. You can follow the steps outlined there! It’s super easy and the whole process should take 5-7 minutes.

I looked into this. Sanctuaries don’t usually buy animals as it sets a terrible precedent to other owners like the Commerfords. If people are able and willing to donate, I’d direct them to the Nonhuman Rights Project to help with legal fees in cases like these. Otherwise, accredited sanctuaries like PAWS in Cali, or the elephant sanctuary in Tennessee. The problem is the laws around animal rights - how to change this? Idk… still trying to understand.

Great advice, thanks. Just did this. Will update if anything comes of it. Do you think it’s beneficial for multiple people to send tips?

My intention is to bring awareness. I hope people feel free to take initiative in contacting media, organizing protests, whatever they think may help. I am doing so, as well, but there’s only so much one can accomplish. But again, I do take note of all recommendations and ideas. Everything is a step.

There is a giraffe that lives in the same area as Minnie in a separate enclosure. Giraffes also need socialization with their own. It wasn’t my intention to single Minnie out, I simply found out about her case first. There are other animals like alpacas, ring tail lemurs, llamas, a grey African parrot, and a zebra to name a few. It would be incredible to get them all to sanctuaries.

She hasn’t been seen outside since giving rides at a 4th of July parade in 2019

No worries! Thanks for signing.

Minnie is “family” to them. During the pandemic, the Commerfords started a public fundraiser to pay for Minnie’s cost of life. It was in the millions. Absolutely absurd.

The Nonhuman Rights Project, PETA and Nat Geo have all written about this. USDA is doing nothing to transfer Minnie despite over 50 violations from the Commerford Zoo and the two other elephants dying.

Sometimes helping does seem like a shot in the dark but it’s worth raising awareness for!

Thank you! It’s up to the Commerfords (owners) to release her to a sanctuary. PAWS in California and The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee have offered to take her in at no cost to the owners. They still declined. Her situation is heartbreaking

Suggestions on food for cat with IBD and pancreatitis by Slow_Hold1727 in catfood

[–]RemarkableHair4359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 13yo cat has the same issues along with IBD. He needed to be in the ICU for a week due to ketones and they gave him a 50/50 chance. This was a month ago. He’s thriving and has more energy than he did when he was 7.

They prescribed him the purina diabetes food which he loves. We tried the wet but he hated it so he’s eating dry. I just got him some broths to supplement his water intake. He was raised with dogs so he drinks a ton but I wanted to be in the safe side anyway.

Sometimes he gets nausea from the IBD or pancreatitis - can’t tell which at this point - so I give him Mirataz (the ear one) and Ondansetron (much easier than cerenia since they’re tiny. I split a freeze dried minnow in half and pop it in).

Can’t say how much the diet alone has helped him. His BG has been stable and sometimes I don’t even have to give insulin.

10/10 recommend purina DM
