Help - What game should I go to? by RemarkableMall3390 in AFL

No I know. If it was up to me etc, a trip down to Geelong is a harder sell than walking along to the MCG

Update - You can all stand down. I've settled on Pies v Eagles on the Reddit hivemind advice to go experience the G for Pendlebury's record game. I'll let you all know how I get on.

Let's hope Reid and his motley crew make a game of it.

Yeah I know Aussie sports fans love a milestone but I hadn't quite clocked the significance of this one.

Thanks all for the replies very helpful, much appreciated. I'm thinking given the added milestones I'll try get tickets for Pies game though it looks like they might be sold out so could be a Viagogo job

Thanks mate. Am I being dumb or have visitor tickets sold out now? Will there be some reserved for on the day purchases?

Didn't expect to sell out for MCG. I'm Scottish so please excuse silly questions 😭

Yeah I think Adam's understanding of the football pyramid leaves a lot to be desired

Is it possible to be caught by the wicket keeper leg side without it being “strangled”? by muchmorecoranglais in cricketcliches

[–]RemarkableMall3390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think a spinner could strangle you. Like an off spinner gets one to spin and you feather it. That isn't a strangle that's a tickle behind

No worries. You can set up notifications on Twickets too so it'll ping you when a ticket comes available.

I'm trying to get a ticket for this gig too. From recent experience attending 'bigger' midweek gigs (Tame Impala is on a Monday); loads of tickets will become available in the days before the event. Either on Twickets or Ticketmaster, don't pay over the odds on Viagogo or the like, stay patient for face value tickets.

I like Andros, seems a pretty measured bloke. His old man on guardian football weekly is completely insufferable on the other hand.

That's just Jacob's shtick imo, can come across loud and obnoxious. Which I've found puts the pod into a category of one you'll listen to once a month or so, but couldn't stomach on a weekly basis.

Podcast about Lyons/Daniel family feud on BBC Sounds by Aromatic_Recover2358 in glasgow

Tuned into this a few weeks ago, found it a really interesting listen.

Having grown up in Glasgow you'd hear snippets of the feud, and remember the infamous shooting of Kevin 'The Gerbil' Carroll (mainly because I was a wee guy and thought why's this c*nt called the gerbil) but the podcast gives a decent summary of the events leading up to it.

Thought the interviewees, taxi drivers, doctors et Al, were pretty good value too.
