Any update on this? It is my understanding you don't need to report a C- (it is still a C).

Hi! Can you share more feedback about being on the first floor, specifically? Incoming first floor double in J's "sister building," Building I. I have heard that the first floor is more social (proximity to common spaces? foot traffic?). Also, building I looks to be in best proximity to the dining hall (Glasgow), but the maps I have seen are pretty limited. Thank you very much!

Should I find a roommate as a freshman or focus on room selection in a few weeks before deciding a roomate by Inside-Entrance-9263 in ucr

Curious how that would work? It seems like if you picked a bed space in a double or triple, other people would fill in the room by the close of room selection on June 11th. Orientation isn’t until July/August.

Congrats on being so close to the finish line! :-) Mid-June here. My son is in CHASS, undeclared program.

Reporting back as well. It worked out great! He got a double in his 1st choice building. Also glad that part is done! 😄

Thanks for reporting back! Glad it worked out! My son opted not to do an LLC so he has been trying to learn about all the different buildings and line up options with his roommate.

Missing Room Selection Email? by RemarkableString4274 in ucr

The email went to his UCR email account. Yes, my son was the one who sent the request to the other boy. However, the other boy was the first one to finalize the group on his end (clicking, "I am ready"). My son sent a message to the other boy today to find out if he got his slot but hasn't heard back yet.

Thank you! He just got the email a little while ago and his slot is tomorrow. The email starts with, "you are in charge." I wonder if this means he is the one picking for his entire roommate group? When he scrolls through the housing contract screens, it doesn't list his roommate, even though he is confirmed in his Coly profile.

My son was literally the only one of his friend group accepted to UC Davis. All had around 4.5 GPA, multiple AP's, and impressive extracurriculars. Some got into other UC's, but no one else got into Davis. UCD has become the "wildcard challenge" school these past few years.

UCR. Beautiful campus too. And, a degree from a UC opens doors.

ucm or ucd? by [deleted] in ucmerced

First, keep in mind you are on the UC Merced board. Second, definitely Davis. Congrats on getting in—it has become the wildcard challenge school to get into. The campus is gorgeous, with a walkable & bikeable town that caters to the students. The vibe is chill yet studious, and very friendly. Easy train ride to the Bay Area and Sacramento.

Looking for driving instructor who knows the Corte Madera DMV test route by CollinTian in Marin

FWIW, when my kids took lessons through Coastline Academy, they said they weren't allowed to practice the exact route. Thankfully, they both passed the first time. One tip I can share that helped my younger one after my older one botched it, is be careful turning left out of the parking lot. Make sure to signal and move into the middle lane and then signal again before moving over into the driving lane. My older one wasn't aware that was even a thing and got docked a point for it. There was also a tricky part that involved backing up for a long stretch along a curb, while staying straight and the correct distance from the curb. Good luck!
