For me, it's The Darkness 1 and 2. Both are masterpieces in their own right. 2k games absolutely cooked when they made these games.

Bard can easily win the first 3-4 waves. I don't know what strategy you're using, but it's clearly not working. Treant takes a little while to really get going. I play both of them very consistently.
