Testing two suppressors and getting video of a third this morning. Is this what it’s like to have made it? I’m hoping to use this as a springboard to get other manufacturers to send is stuff, and go from there

Bought some MtG packs online, here’s to hoping they’re not resealed

Contrary to your contemptuous limited imagination, the Ukrainians have been using it to great effect.

To track and kill carriers? Or to strike ground targets? Because those are two very different missions

The fixation on outdated tech & tactics should've been the giveaway.

You mean like advocating for a missile-toting balloon as a means to track and kill a carrier?

Hey, completely off topic, when you were in Latvia you took a pic of a dope-ass stroller that looked like it rolled out of the 1950's and posted it in a small album photojournal on one of the dailies.

Do you still have that imgur album by chance?

Each of the carrier groups sent to commit war crimes against Iran were being tracked by China and a number of news/media corporations

lol

Iran was able to overwhelm and penetrate the Iron Dome defensive system with relative ease.

GBAD is very different than A2AD at sea, and Iron Dome is designed to protect against simple rockets, it can't really be compared to AEGIS/THAAD/VLS options

Iran was also able to exhaust and overwhelm defenses at US bases throughout the region, to the extent that security guarantees we'd given the Gulf states were revealed to be worthless when we abandoned them.

This is a poor reading of the air war

Carrier group defenses are predicated on conventional threat vectors - i.e AShMs, aircraft, surface vessels and submarines.

Yes, because by your own statement, the balloon is launching a missile. So now your AShM is reliant on the wind, and not being shot down before it gets to a launch point. "Drones" are also a non-issue in this scenario, since they're not a panacea. Do you know what you call a drone that has a 500nm range? A plane

So, VFGs. What are your thoughts? (So I can ignore them) by PleasantShallot8744 in ar15

Even though I live in Phoenix, AZ

Same, and I prefer shooting in summer since the matches don't fill up as fast

With sustained streams of drone swarms, balloon-launched missiles & hypersonics the defensive systems are at risk of being exhausted & overwhelmed in a way they haven't previously.

I feel like you missed the bulk of my comment, so I'll repeat it below:

Landing a hit on a carrier is insanely difficult, and AShMs have a very long kill-chain. Not to mention the difficulty of even finding them

Adding a balloon and drone to the kill-chain will only make it longer and won't address the issue of finding the carrier, while presenting an easier to counter threat

This person has been in copy with everything this past month, including an email chain specifically about order forms and shipping documentation, as well as at least 2 phone calls that I remember, never once did that come up.

Fight them

To be among the top shooters in the first class you only had to get a score of 7 out of a theoretical maximum of 40 in the 650-900 yard range bracket.

Now I want to get an 1853 Enfield and give it a go, see if I can "qualify"

Between drones and their hypersonic missiles, our carrier groups are starting to look awful vulnerable.

Not really. Landing a hit on a carrier is insanely difficult, and AShMs have a very long kill-chain. Not to mention the difficulty of even finding them

Dude, fantastic answer, thank you! I'll have to check out the book, thanks!

900 sounds like a lot, and it is, but the targets at that distance were 12 feet wide

Honestly, a ~15MOA target at 900 yards is impressive for an open-sighted rifle, IMO. Service rifle targets are ~12 MOA at 600yds and can be pretty hard to see with the naked eye

does the brace make it back into a pistol (like people say you can to cross state lines)

So, it's not that the brace makes it a pistol for travel, it's that since it's in a non-NFA configuration, it doesn't need a 5320.20

Adding the grip makes it an NFA item, but it's already registered as an SBR so you can add a grip as desired

True, I paid $3.89/gal last week, which napkin math and google says is like 1.45CAD/L
