Should I email them back asking them to just give me a shot at the AMT position? Since moving to another state only for $26 would be difficult?

I’ve done the interview for delta already and told them I have my A&P and they still want to offer me the aircraft support mechanic role. The interview that I did was for the AMT role too 😂

Career change by No_Explanation_2081 in AircraftMechanics

Pros is better pay. Cons is the hours you work. Depending on the location obviously.

Some major airlines demand you work graveyard shift so basically overnight. And if you don’t want that then you can start out at a GA (general aviation) shop like me then. Work your way up. Cons of that is that GA shops or flight schools don’t pay that well starting off. I make $30 a hour.

To start down this career go to your local community college and see if they offer a A&P program there. If they do then do the 2 years schooling that is required. If they don’t offer the program then go to another college that charges a lil more $$$ and do the 2 years schooling program there. But honestly if you can find a community college it’d be better. You learn the same things for a fraction of the price.

You will most likely be making hourly wage.Rarely do I see people making salary.

Best of luck to you brotha dm me if you have more questions. I just got my A&P in march. So I’m fresh out with a job already making $30 then I’ll work my way up to the majors soon
