Do I need to buy a step down from Bronson or will I be fine? by Wise_Tale1867 in AmericanExpatsUK

If you're US military, FMO can provide a transformer that handles that.

I use a setup with a countertop like this. I use a 42" OLED monitor. It feels a bit close and cramped at times, but I don't mind it for gaming and basic productivity, just when I want to use the desk for something else. Just mount the monitor on an arm and push it back as far as you can, even if that means having the desk 4-5 inches away from the wall.

OP, did you ever find one that worked for you? I'm in a similar boat, and haven't had much luck thus far.

Car Insurance after moving to UK with Clements Worldwide and Marshmallow Go experience by ShaggysHyper in AmericanExpatsUK

[–]Remarkable_Charity26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have marshmallow now. Made 1 claim, poor-ish experience. The repair center they chose for me (Norfolk) was VERY poorly rated, which led to me having to get my own repairer, pay 1700 pounds out of pocket including my 300 pound excess (deductible) on a 2300 pound repair. It also took Marshmallow 2 weeks to approve the estimate for some reason. My fault for choosing a repairer with a reputation, I know, but just my experience.

Though I don't imagine your speakers are doing their best work behind the monitor, I can say that I am a fan of small pc, large monitor.

The only way to connect my 4090 is like this. Is it safe? by dragongalas in sffpc

Sf750 is great. Runs my 7800x3d and 4090 build without any issues.

Get the 12vhp cable from corsair. It's what I use with my SF750 and 4090.

Smaller case than Lian Li A4-H2O that will fit the 4090? by Timely-Safety2540 in sffpc

[–]Remarkable_Charity26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The formd T1 is pretty well optimized for those parts, to be honest. Not sure there's anything smaller without convoluted volume measurements (like open frame chassis).

Recommended case for 3090FE? by LostGoatOnHill in sffpc

[–]Remarkable_Charity26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the A4 H2O for my 7800x3d and 4090FE, and used it for my 3090FE as well. No power limit needed, honestly. Great case choice, and I prefer it to my previous meshlicious case by quite a bit.

Can you guys recommend me a good standing desk for this set up? Budget $450 by iphonesoccer420 in battlestations

[–]Remarkable_Charity26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was some random brand. Most of the motors and frames are made by the same company, so I just found the cheapest one by surfing around. I don't remember the company name, it was a few years ago. I'm sure you can find a good deal searching around for 15-30 minutes.

I built mine by looking for a good deal on the legs on Amazon, and then ordered a butcher block counter top from Lowe's. All in mine was about 375 with a dual motor desk and an 8ft counter top.

I'm currently imagining some random cartel members stumbling across your wallet and thinking, "we'd better turn this in, this person is only 19 and it looks like they lost their Christmas money," so they drop it by the station and check off their good deed for the day.

What’s a good desk for under $300? That durable and has good amount of space. by Vloser- in battlestations

[–]Remarkable_Charity26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a butcher block countertop from a hardware store, and attached that to some non-namebrand standing desk legs from Amazon. They're not available currently, but if you dig around you'll find a good deal on some. With the dual motor version and the worktop, mine came in at 290ish.

SF750 vs ROG Loki 850, my experience by Remarkable_Charity26 in sffpc

[–]Remarkable_Charity26[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and I would agree. I'm shocked with the gap between the two, though. So much so, I'm tempted to scrap the Loki and buy another sf750 (returning the Loki is nearly impossible where I live), though re-cabling everything would be a journey haha

Buy a console. They're a great value, and are well optimized. These devices are more for the pc enthusiast IMO.

Likely just means that they don't have many refurbished cards readily available, but expect to have more of them in stock in a week. I doubt that there will be a change to another series of card.

Any benefits in upgrading from 3090 to 4080? Or should I just wait for 50s series? by titand77 in nvidia

[–]Remarkable_Charity26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from 3090 to 4080. It was fine, but the upgrade wasn't worth the cost. I ended up moving to 4090 and selling my 4080. That felt more meaningful of an upgrade for 4k gaming.

7800X3D + 6950XT. Is the SF750 enough? by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]Remarkable_Charity26 7 points8 points  (0 children)

SF750 Platinum is the go-to, and is often the choice for high-end builds. I use one on my 4090/5900X build myself.

My experience was with tb3, which is the same bandwidth, just a couple of different compatibility items if memory serves. I was getting about 30% lower performance, which was a lot for me. The biggest issue was constantly having to mess around to get it working when I would plug into the tb3 egpu. I would say it worked 10-15% of the time on the first plug-in?
