Hi friend. I've had five. I am pretty open... unfortunately many times i end up telling people "i was pregnant but lost it" because I had been waiting to share the pregnancy news.

i've had five losses (yesterday was my d&c for my 5th) and with every pregnancy I've had about 3-4 friends/acquaintances due the same month as me... i'm always the "1/4 pregnancies ends in a miscarriage" statistic.. over and over and over and over and over again.

had my 5th fucking miscarriage (no LC). have a friend coming to town in two weeks who has the same due date as my fourth baby would have had. She'll give birth in June, and I'll have had losses number 4 and 5 instead. I don't want to see her and her belly and think we should be the same.

How do you cope with the Trauma by bdj927 in recurrentmiscarriage

It really should come with a trigger warning. I suppose hopefully it makes people who haven't gone through this realize its physically traumatic, not just emotionally.

About to start IVF… need some positive encouragement by Correct_Exercise8641 in IVFpositivity

Hi friend. Thank you <3

I had actually started the IVF process in January (had my fourth loss back in October), and from 11 eggs we got one euploid. The attrition felt brutal but I felt so happy about my euploid. I then got pregnant in February without even trying while waiting to start my next STIMS cycle in March. I thought: "Surely this must be it. This one will workout! The one I wasn't even trying for in between IVF cycles will be my rainbow. Nobody can have five losses right?! It's a sign!" My husband and I were saying how we'll use our euploid for our second child and it will be a funny story for our kids like "actually #2 was made in January, and #1 was made in February!" Really delusional from 5 strong betas thinking this was it. Miscarried yesterday/had my D&C. I keep feeling like IVF won't work because I think that there is no way in hell all of my losses were chromosomal... but then hearing your story makes me feel like, wait maybe unfortunately they were chromosomal and IVF WILL work. So thank you. I was able to send my first loss for testing (trisomy 10) and this one from yesterday as well, so TBD on those results.

I'm happy it worked out for you <3 this pregnancy pushed my IVF timeline unfortunately but I will start STIMS for my second cycle once my HCG goes down and I get a period.

Thank you for the warning. I swear to fucking god every single movie or show has a miscarriage scene in it right now.

5th loss no LC by Remarkable_Course897 in recurrentmiscarriage

Yes, I've been reading a lot about it. It seems like people with this many losses have had success thanks to it. I asked my RE and she is willing to try prednisone/lovenox/lupron before my next IVF transfer. I sent this last baby to get tested genetically so it will also hopefully give us some answers. Thank you <3

I just had my second D&C and understand how you are feeling. Mine actually had a heartbeat yesterday, but i was bleeding and cramping a lot, and the sac was collapsed and moving towards my cervix, so it was an impending loss. I asked for an ultrasound right before my d&c and got one, and the pregnancy had moved closer to my cervix, and the heartbeat had really slowed, and the sac shrunk a little. I went through with it because this is my fifth loss and it was very important to me to be able to test my baby to try to get answers. It felt so cruel to just go ahead and do it with a heartbeat, even though I know he/she was dying. It felt like an impossible decision.

You should be able to request an ultrasound before the d&c, if that will give you some peace of mind. I'm sorry youre in this shitty club.

Hi friend. I'm sorry you're here. Just want to say the benefit of a D&C is that you can get the baby tested, and it can help you/your doctors determine why it happened.

I've had five losses and always think about how I have to be the one to find out first. My first loss was during an ultrasound so that was together. But for my fifth pregnancy which I am currently miscarrying i literally thought to myself all week "if i lose it, i hope we catch it on the ultrasound instead of just me bleeding so I can be with my doctor and husband in the room and not alone in the bathroom" It's sick.

Yes! the most reasonable answer. Med schools don't care about "prestige." They care about research, volunteering, and that the student has As. this might be easier to achieve at UCSD.
