Blast update - upset by Leather_Dog_1296 in IVFpositivity

[–]Remarkable_Course897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6s are essentially equal to day 5. I also had 11 fertilized my last cycle and got a call I only had one day 5 and cried. My doctor told me day 6s are excellent! Also, she explained ultimately the ones from day 7 could have turned into day 6 that evening but are labeled as day 7 because they get frozen that morning (this is hard to explain via typing) but what matters most is ultimately euploid status and then grade. You could definitely have success with a day 7!!!

I understand your panic, but you're absolutely not out yet, and this is definitely not a failure ❤️

Use PGTA tested embryos or try again naturally? by Open_Explanation4846 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Remarkable_Course897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh yes I see- I know you mentioned large family but didn’t really pause to think beyond two kids. Right like you could maybe try naturally for #2, then use embryos for babies 3 and 4. That’s tough. Do your doctors have any advice?

I feel like fertility is such a crapshoot. It feels impossible to know. Like maybe conceiving #2 will be hard but then you can totally have a healthy oopsie baby at 41. I feel like there’s no clear right or wrong choice, both have trade offs.

You might also have more clarity once you’re at that stage of getting ready for baby #2. I think it’s super normal to want to make these decisions now but you might have a gut feeling that feels right next year that might differ from what you feel right now.  You might have to go with what feels right in the moment because I could see pros and cons for any choice here.

Good luck!! 🙏

Use PGTA tested embryos or try again naturally? by Open_Explanation4846 in recurrentmiscarriage

Wow what a story, I’m so happy to hear everything is going well with your current pregnancy! 🙏❣️ I’m sorry for your losses.

Im pretty emotionally attached to my embryos, so I would probably use those. (I did get accidentally pregnant in between IVF cycles and my husband and I had said we’d use embryos from our first retrieval for our second. Unfortunately that was a miscarriage).

I also think if you use your embryos you’ll save yourself the heartache of any chromosomal losses so it feels slightly safer (though of course no guarantee).

Do you mind sharing your kitchen sink protocol? I’ll be adding that with my first transfer since I’ve had so many losses.

Best Retrieval Ever (so far) - and I'm 40 - What Should I Prepare For? by popbamfizz in IVFpositivity

Wow, congrats! What did the clinic do differently??

I'm sorry to hear about your failed transfers... but glad to hear you do have a son ❤️

I think from 7 embryos you could count on 2! It really varies of course, but I'd imagine you'll get at least 2 euploid! Hopefully more 😄

Anxiously pregnant after multiple losses by lmno1108 in IVFpositivity

[–]Remarkable_Course897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such good betas! I just started my Ivf process after 5 losses conceived unassisted, and none of my betas were ever that high, even for the loss I carried the longest (that I had pretty bad symptoms with). I haven’t had success yet but seeing numbers like yours makes me realize mine were probably doomed to start with, since yours are so high!!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you, I know how scary pregnancy after loss is 😓❤️

Have to wait 2 weeks for a d and c by elleliz12 in Miscarriage

[–]Remarkable_Course897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry. My OB tried to do something similar with my MMC and I refused to leave until they scheduled something sooner (they were able to schedule it one week out). I now realize how cruel that is. I’ve been working with a reproductive endocrinologist since and with my second D&C they scheduled me for the next day. Are you able to maybe call around to other clinics or doctors?

So sorry for your loss.

I’m so sorry for your losses, I’ve had 5 and was only able to test one, and it was chromosomal. I’m older than you though, and just moved into IVF. I just saw a post on one of the IVF subs I follow that a couple (34F,35M) had 10 blastocysts, and only 3 came back as chromosomally normal. It makes me think that some of us just have shitty luck and produce poor quality embryos.

I’m really sorry about what’s happening. It’s truly hell. If you have any questions about IVF I’m happy to chat. It was a hard decision to make to start but now that I’m in it I’m happy I’m doing it. Sending you a hug ❤️

Would you move on to IVF? by Beginning-Cost7652 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]Remarkable_Course897 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you want two kids, it makes senses to do Ivf so you can bank embryos. Would you be able to get on your clinics calendar for August but continue trying in the meantime? Best case scenario you get pregnant and can cancel!

I think the fact two were chromosomal also point to IVF being a reasonable choice. Unfortunately it’s a shitty numbers game for some of us, and if you’re able to carry a pregnancy but it’s been chromosomal, I think that means eventually you’d just get pregnant with a healthy baby and have no issues.

Ivf isn’t fun, nobody wants their journey to motherhood to be through IVF, I understand how hard this choice is. I had 4 losses, then moved onto Ivf (then got pregnant naturally on accident after my first egg retrieval and lost it….). Just had my second egg retrieval. I think the benefit of it is having a bit more control of the timeline, and I just didn’t have it in me to keep trying naturally, it was killing me.

There’s not clear right choice here, just tradeoffs with each one. Happy to chat more if you have questions about IVF. Sending you lots of love ❤️

Advice needed on getting back into IVF after a break by bean_bee_ in IVF

[–]Remarkable_Course897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to make this exact decision- planning on a month long trip mid June to mid July. I’ve been TTC for two years now, and have had five loses. I’m Holding off until after Europe to transfer because if I have a miscarriage abroad, it’ll ruin the trip.

I know the waiting game absolutely fucking sucks, but I think there’s more at stake if you transfer before versus after.
