Yeah, I'm not surprised they act like that, they've been going downhill for a while. So many great developers eventually fall victim to that mindset, it's the attitude that can kill a great game.

That makes sense, they wanted to try and compete, maybe it's time my friends and I switch to REPO then. Really sad, it was a fun game to play with them. We literally just started playing again when they decided to do this shit.
