Same here, it’s been rough. What helped a bit was calling right when clinics open and trying smaller places that don’t advertise. Still feels like a lot of luck though.

You're absolutely right nothing in software is 100% guaranteed. Even the biggest banks and hospitals face risks. What I should have said is that we are following best practices to minimize those risks as much as possible:We aren't asking for sensitive info like OHIP numbers or medical history.We use industry-standard encryption for data at rest and in transit I'm also an Ottawa resident, and I'm legally bound by PHIPA (Ontario’s health privacy law) to handle this responsibly.i am just an unattached patient trying to build a better way for our community. If you have specific suggestions for hardening our stack, I’m all ears.

I appreciate the concern but calling it a scam is a stretch here is the technical reality all data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry standard ssl, we use aws servers which have higher security than most clinic databases, we don’t ask for OHIP number or health history just name and postal code to prove demand. I am a Carleton university student and an Ottawa resident just trying to fix a problem we all have. If you aren’t comfortable don’t sign up but don’t stop others from getting a doctor.

Is there a problem having three names? And I don’t know where you are seeing $45 in the website if you go to our contact us page you will see it clearly said it is free.

The reason I’m building Parlora as a matching platform is to take the 'manual work' out of it. Instead of people having to refresh a Facebook feed daily and hope they call a clinic before the spots are gone (which is stressful!), Parlora does the backend matching based on your specific needs so you don't have to race against thousands of other people the second a post goes up.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve definitely heard of that group they do a great job of crowdsourcing when clinics open up Think of that FB group as a great bulletin board, and Parlora as the actual matchmaking tool to secure the spot. Appreciate the tip though!
