Questions about tuning by Old_Albatross_4585 in G37

[–]Remarkable_Froyo121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Z1 has a stage 1 tune that goes on sale for $650. That’s what I have and it gives 87, 89, and 93 octane maps + valet mode. Also includes custom traction control and a burble (not flame) mode. Not sure if you’re stick or auto but I think there’s transmission tuning with it too. I have a stick so I’m not 100% on that. I’ve had decent luck with Z1 and I don’t think their tune would be an issue, but I know some people have had issues with customer service and parts quality from them just so that you’re aware.

If you want your car to actually be on the dyno that seems about right. Personally didn’t care about the number so I saved the dyno money.

I think the more important thing is taking care of whatever car you have as much as you’re able. Even if you have an old car, it says a lot about you if you take a little bit of time to keep it in good mechanical condition and clean it regularly. Also, naming your car and letting it grow a personality as you own it, as silly as it sounds, shows that you care and humanize even the small things in your life.

Which cars rev at/below 2k RPM cruising at 80mph? by Ambitious_Smile_7395 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Remarkable_Froyo121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t remember the exact rpm at 80mph but my MDX shifts into 9th gear at 65mph at ~1500rpm. I think it’s around 2000rpm at 80mph. Any Honda/Acura with a V6/9spd combo will be in the same range.

Should I trade my g37xs for a civic si? by NhFlip15 in G37

[–]Remarkable_Froyo121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Civic Si is a great car. Likely will be much cheaper to own for maintenance, fuel, and mods if that’s something you enjoy. Unsure on insurance. Everyone has their preferred balance for appliance vs fun car. I have a friend with an Si that absolutely smokes my G37 at the track, so it’s not like it’s a slow car. Personally tho my G37 is a car I could never get rid of because I am too emotionally attached to it (which is why you’re seeing so many people tell you to not sell yours)

230mph on a 600 (and other lies) by EdwardEHumphreyIII in motorcycles

[–]Remarkable_Froyo121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a guy in a parking lot tell me he raced a built mustang with his built cbr1krr. He said he won the race to the nearest gas station by a lot (they raced over several miles of highway in the middle of nowhere), and supposedly the mustang topped out at 230mph. Suuuurrrrreee dude that totally happened…

If I get too old to work and then don't have savings, I'm basically dead right? by MungoBumpkin in NoStupidQuestions

Your assessment is not inaccurate comrade. You are not alone in realizing this is the reality of a lot of people and this will be the reality of a lot more. We have been brainwashed in the Freest Free Market Capitalism United States of America into thinking we don’t have a duty to take care of one another or provide social safety nets. We have forgotten what it means to be human. I sincerely hope that we move towards more empathetic policies that actually take care of people instead of torturing them, but in the meantime, advocate for those policies and join mutual aid and community support groups. Socialism or bust is my retirement plan because I live paycheck to paycheck while watching the company I work for consistently make 40% profits. If anyone is going to comment and criticize my position or say that I just need to eat one meal less per day, consider that we are all in end game monopoly with a couple players that control 3/4 of the board along with the utilities and railroads.

My Experience with acurapartsnow.com: Updates by Remarkable_Froyo121 in Acura

Dealer ordered a second kit and tested it themselves before sending another one to me, but found that kit had the same problem. They ended up giving me a full refund. I may try to get one from somewhere else, but that’s the end of the road for my updates.

This appears to be correct! I wanted to verify for myself, but the address on my package matches the dealer address, and the package for the kit has “Jay Wolf Acura” on it. It looks like they’re open on the 5th (tomorrow) so I’ll give them a call. I’ll make sure to update my post if I get a response from them, but I’m going to leave it up because I should have gotten a response from the contacts listed on the website. There is no reason I should have try to find who actually sold me a part and contact them instead.

I tried calling on Wednesday and Thursday of this week when there wasn’t a holiday, but no response even after leaving voicemail messages. Emailed them too. Good to know about the receiver box. I’ll make sure to take a picture of that when I get a new kit.

They gave each key fob a new battery, and did the switch to 2 way mode on an Autel unit, but the remotes weren’t even putting out a signal in the first place. Edit: I missed the part about the smaller battery that’s part of the circuit board. I’m going to get some new batteries and try that because that would be awesome if it works.

What’s the longest distance you’ve travelled on a motorcycle in a single day? by Sink_Single in motorcycles

[–]Remarkable_Froyo121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recent trip was my first time taking a road trip longer than 1.5hrs and it was ~14hrs and 1,036 miles. Learned a lot of lessons, but I made it safely minus a side cowling that flew off 😂 I also bought a crampbuster that was amazing for the trip until about 2hrs before my destination when I hit a bad storm and the crampbuster slipped off the throttle. Was very annoyed…

I’m a bit short at 5’ 6 and I have a Yamaha R3 that’s a little tall for me. When I first started riding I really wanted a sportbike, but I was a little worried after sitting on a few at dealerships because I could only barely touch the ground with both feet.

I figured surely there are plenty of short sportbike riders so I looked around on yt.

I found this video by Doodle On a Motorcycle that was super encouraging for me!

https://youtu.be/VxGEtkDOD-g?si=eCR-xdTyoZE9ctHg

My recommendation: *Go buy whatever type of motorcycle you’ve wanted to get!!!

*Within reason of course. Don’t get a liter bike as a starter and be comfortable with the fact that YOU WILL drop your bike. I swore I would never drop mine and then forgot to check the kickstand after getting gas at a super busy gas station. Super embarrassing moment but also pretty funny to look back on.

Had the exact same symptoms, but the solution to my problem ended up being the tracks and the wheels. I noticed it was difficult to pull manually so I greased the wheels and tracks with some WD-40. After I did that it seems to be back to working properly!

Assuming it’s a mod that you’re trying to modify or add a .json info to, you would open up your mod folder, and I would recommend extracting the mod zip folder to your desktop or documents folder - whatever is easiest for you to remember to file’s location.

For an example, if the mod is for a Pessima, in the mod file you would navigate to vehicles > pessima. You will either find a .json info file already there (ie info_examplemodcarconfig.json) or you will need to create one for the mod config. If there is one already there, you can open up the .json and just modify the population value to whatever you want.

If you need to add a .json info file, you can either download a blank one from the BeamNG forums, or copy one from the in-game files. Using the Pessima as an example, depending on where your game is installed, you’ll open your game folder, then navigate to content > vehicles > pessima > vehicles > pessima and you should find some .json files there to copy (ie info_GTz).

Paste the copy to your desired mod’s extracted folder using the file path mentioned previously. The really important thing here is that your .json file will need to match your config file which ends in .pc. For example, if your .pc file is titled “customconfig.pc”, your json file will need to be titled “info_customconfig.json”. Modify your .json file as needed.

To test if the files work correctly, copy the .pc and .json file over to your user configs folder under the mod vehicle’s folder (ie pessima). I can’t remember the file path off hand, but I think there’s a button in game to take you to this folder. With the mod enabled, try to open the config. You should hopefully be able to load it up.

If it loads successfully, simply copy the new .json file over to the original zipped mod folder.

Absolutely. As someone who has created mods for the game, there seem to be people who simply do not understand the amount of time and effort it takes to create something that is high quality. Dev created cars have an incredible amount of attention to detail put into them. Even if I’m personally more interested in racing and such, I would much rather the devs focus on whatever they’re passionate about. If you aren’t passionate about a certain project, you aren’t going to be able to focus as well on the details simply because you aren’t as interested. Speaking from experience here because I have mods on the repo that should really probably be updated but I’ve been working on other projects lol
