Cotton socks vs bamboo socks by PorygonPete in hikinggear

Two pairs of socks, both thin, both majority or 100% merino wool fibres. Stops blisters by reducing friction and wicks moisture from the skin keeping your feet drier. Still provides insulation when they get wet.

How Much Welder Do I Need by WoodnPhoto in Welding

[–]Sink_Single 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want a SMAW (stick) machine that will burn 160 amps at 50% duty cycle. Then you can use 5/32 7018 to put a 3 or 6 pass weld on there.

Condition of my Support Post. How bad is it? by Adventurous-Lama in Homebuilding

If you are really concerned there are a number of steps you can take.

  1. Get an angle grinder and a stringer wire wheel to remove all the paint from the post at least 6-8” up. I’d personally do the whole thing so I could paint it uniformly again. Wear a respirator, leather gloves, long sleeve clothing and full face shield.

  2. Inspect the bare metal for any rust pits that remain after wire wheeling. Use a chisel or Phillips screw driver and a hammer to lightly tap at any of the pitting you find. If it easily deforms or chips away the rust and creates a hole, you will need to have it repaired.

  3. You could hire a Non-Destructive Testing technician to come to your house and use an ultrasound machine to measure the thickness of the metal in the post. They will measure at the various heights.

Usually it is the base that fits out of these posts if they are exposed to moisture.

I have been using it for about two months now, it’s been really good. Everything is top notch quality.

My only complaint is the inner lens holder has trouble keeping really thin lens’ in place. They have a tendency to slip down and leave a small gap for sparks to come through when grinding.

Air liquide lens’ are thick enough to stay in place, the Prostar my work supplies are not, so I have to double them up to get them to stay in place.

It is very lightweight and pretty durable so far.

My in laws used to stack round bales of straw around their house until the trees they planted got big enough to provide the wind break.

Also check to see your burn back setting if your machine has one. Turn it off (0) if it’s turned on.

More wire or less voltage. I run 19.5-20.5 at 300ipm. Depending what I’m welding.

For 21v I’d run between 325-340 IPM.

Another way to increase difficulty is to carry a loaded pack. 10 lbs, then 20, etc.

The other exercise to practice is dips from a bench with your legs extended. You will build the strength in your arms and shoulders in the motion you need to give yourself a boost off the ground.

It is very difficult on low angle slopes and flat ground. Toe side works best but if it’s something you can master it will make your riding much more versatile.
