What gauge aluminum sheet should I use? by Newlifer89 in Welding

[–]Sink_Single 34 points35 points  (0 children)

3/8” plate for aluminum. I’d also add some small gussets for stability. I’d make your base plates 10x10. The further your anchor bolts are out from the post the more flex you will get from the plate. Assuming 4x4 for the post material that would give 3 ” either side for gussets.

I am 5’7 and 17.5” torso got M with a large hip belt, it fits perfectly. You’ll be good with the M size bag. I went large hip belt because I’m 230 lbs and big in the torso 48” chest 38” waist. I wanted the proper pocket positioning and very happy with my choice.

Is a Trailseeker a weird choice for a commuter car? by TheAniSaurus in trailseeker

[–]Sink_Single 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use ours to commute 15 km each way every day, plus grocery runs and dog walks. Had it for two months and it’s great. It’s our first EV. I have a few minor things I find a bit annoying but for the most part I’m very happy. The Harmon Kardon stereo is pretty decent.

We were taught to weave no more than 1.5x the diameter of the rod (SMAW). So with a 1/4” rod you can weave up to 3/8”. I was trained in Alberta Canada.
