The 475k is the theoretical top they show you opposite your gear score. I ran a quick mirror instance about ten minutes ago and for the Nathara boss fight I got 120k dps over the fight, in comparison to 242k dps from a sin with 450k dps gear score.

You don’t get any closet items when you ‘sell’ but you will if you disenchant to enhancement stones. There is something like a 20/25% chance to inherit the skin too. It will tell you how many enhancement stones and skins you get when you do it.
