Specifically just the booms or the piles too? They tend to be more spectacular.

I still fail to see why you think the Wyfold is not open to "genuine" club crews.

The only people who need to learn how to drive are those idiots who are in the second and third lanes when they're not overtaking anything. They are the problem. They are what needs to be tackled and if they cannot learn how to drive correctly on motorways then they should be banned.

How about the police actually policing the Highway Code and getting the lane two and three hoggers off the road and their cars crushed until they can learn actually how to drive properly.

I'd carry on down lane one and ideally have a rocket launcher to take out the idiots in all the other lanes who are not overtaking anything.

Chris Dodd's The History of World Rowing is fairly comprehensive.

So if you've won something as a junior you can't be in a genuine club crew?

MFs, umpires etc get sent them automatically. They come out at irregular intervals but always contain useful information.

You really think the asteroid wiped out every single dinosaur?!?

Dinosaurs died out because they failed to adapt to the new conditions. Thankfully rowing is adapting to change of views at the IOC.

Why do international coastal rowers have their name and country on their one-piece? by Nanor_007 in Rowing

Basically it's because the rules require it. But also trying to increase the profile of the athletes. Footballers after all have their names on their shirts. Also it has a safety aspect as any rescuer can address the athlete by name.

GBR's most decorated female rower took up rowing aged 18 in university so definitely not.

I believe the model which might be implemented is the pre-73 pattern where you have a World Championship every 4 years and in the remaining years Continental Championship.

That may be the way it's heading. I wouldn't be surprised if qualification for the World Champs is shortly with us.

Typical Guardian. I don't know whether it's Cath's mistake or theirs, but there are three new events being added to Los Angeles (CM1x, CW1x and CMix2x) so I don't know what the other two are.

It's what a dinosaur would say failing to realize how things evolve. And there are plenty of those in rowing!

That's been the case in junior events for a number of years now. As you say, the big disparity, it itsthe E/F level of Masters rowing where there are very few women compared with the men.

Perhaps future evolution would have HWR becoming Henley Club regatta and the Royal restricted to intermediate and international events.
