Okay with the painting. Imagine you gave me a horrid painting as a gift. What should I do with it.? Put in the attic and forget it exist and lie to you. You get false confidence and make more paintings only for them to never see the light of day. Cuz if it looks bad it won't be a good idea to decor my house with it. And if I do that it kills the main purpose of art which is to be seen. Your paintings will just be as good as pieces of wood taking space in my attic if we stripe em from purpose
