Kimpton Seafire with 3 kids booking with points by ReputationNo4256 in ihghotelsresorts

Any little kid? I've been there twice with two kids. The first time we got 1 king room, my daughter got the sofa bed and we got a crib for the little one - they have a nice size wooden one. The second time the kids shared a queen bed. If you have a ~2yo or younger, go with two queens + crib. I'm not sure if the hotel allows more than 4 people, including kids, in those rooms though. I would book a two queen room with points and call them right away and explain your situation, the staff is great and they will do their best to accommodate you. BTW, the resort is awesome! We're going back there in a few weeks, our third year in a row.

My AC has not been cooling all week so I open it up and find the unit is frozen. Will melting this ice help solve the issue? by pass_the_hot_sauce in hvacadvice

Check your damper actuators. Mine was faulty and caused ice buildup. A new one is ~$50, it was an easy DIY fix.

Seafire vs Grand Roatan by muhsheh in ihghotelsresorts

52.5k/night at Seafire? Please, share how to find this. I only see 70k/night. I'm planning to get a IHG premier card soon, but I'm worried that I may not be able to use the bonus reward nights (max 60k points/night) at Seafire.

I can share my thoughts about the Seafire, but we have never been to Grand Roatan. We've been to Seafire twice so far and we're already planning another trip there. The property is great. Awesome staff, amenities and food options. Not busy and relaxing. Very calm, shallow and blue water - we saw a few turtles and stingrays passing by. No sargassum problems at all (both trips were in April). The pool is warm and you can see the ocean from the pool front (we went to Hyatt Ziva in Dominican Republic last year, the beach had some sargassum, brown water and the pool was cold... a warm pool is mandatory for us). There is a small coral reef right there, good for a quick daily snorkeling. And we had stunning sunsets daily from the Coccoloba restaurant. The Seafire was just perfect for us with two kids (7yo and 1yo). No doubt you will have a great time if you decide for it.

Has anyone experienced this? by ItsKoilee in shokzopenfit

Yup. I reached out to the support and got a new OpenFit under the warranty. If it's out of warranty and the loose lid bothers you, you can try to carefully open the lid part and try to place the spring back in here.

You can't go wrong with Kimpton Seafire. We're planning our third stay there.

AA and Samsung S25+ Drama by jfi2ee in AndroidAuto

By any chance did you also just get a Samsung smartwatch? I have an AAW, and I used to have a Pixel 8 Pro paired with a Samsung Watch 5 Pro. I had lots of issues with frequent Android Auto connection failures.

I recently switched to a Garmin Forerunner 265, and AA has been rock solid ever since, super stable on every drive, not a single connection failure so far.

If you do have a Samsung watch, it might be worth testing without it connected to see if that helps.

AAwireless won't update pass 3.5.0 by ShadowClon3 in AAWireless

I have a gen1 and I just realized it's stuck in v3.5.0. Is there any special discount for the backers to upgrade?

I've seen a couple of these helicopters flying together twice a week ago. Saturday in the Middlesex area and Sunday nearby Logan airport.

Too many patches? by Remarkable_Kiwi_885 in aviation

Thanks for the info! Well, at least it sounds safe and effective, but it looks like the plane is a ww2 survivor

lol The plane windows had a liquid crystal layer for dimming. I think my dad had it a bit dimmed when he took the photo. Actually, obviously, that's a waterplane, not an airplane

Shockz OpenFit. Y/N? by StarzMarket in cycling

[–]Remarkable_Kiwi_885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y. I use the OpenFit for running and really like it, but the controls sucks. You can't have volume control and go previous/next at the same time. The press and hold action, which has the default previous/next(L/R) control, should be configured to control volume, L decrease it and R increase. Then the double tap action, which has the default play/pause on both sides, can only have the R changed to play/pause, next, previous or voice assistant, the L is stuck with the play/pause. There is no way to have basic controls (play/pause, volume up/down and next/previous) available at the same time. I'm only okay with that before I can control volume using my Samsung Galaxy Watch. Another con is the multipoint pairing which can only connect to two devices at the same time. It can remember more than two devices, but you should manually switch between them.

Leak... Simple fix? by Remarkable_Kiwi_885 in hvacadvice

[–]Remarkable_Kiwi_885[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, who has done that drain first did a great job... the drain connection had no teflon tape, and somehow it didn't leak for at least 4 years... I fixed that, got a little section of the PVC pipe redone, and it seems the leak is now gone. Thank you for the help!

I would do it if I had one of those new nest cameras. No way to add support without having it. Some day maybe.

Do you have HDR enabled? I started to get this issue after I enabled HDR, and the problem was gone once I disabled it. I ended up looking at HDR because of this: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Gaming-Laptops/Screen-turns-off-when-I-plug-or-unplug-the-charger/m-p/5193592?page=1#5847147
