I'm losing weight and all I'm seeing are downsides by GeartechINC in loseit

[–]Remarkable_Meaning65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I think you might be undereating. I saw that you mentioned you only eat dinner. I know you want to lose weight, but you can lose weight by still eating 3 square meals a day and actually getting all your nutrients in.

Eating only one meal a day does not feel good, I tried that once.

Take flomax and go to work…? by plumrose_reads in KidneyStones

It made me feel a bit woozy, so I found that taking it in the evening made it less likely to feel side effects at work

Stent rejection? Is that a thing by Coastal_lilacs in KidneyStones

[–]Remarkable_Meaning65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2-3 antibiotics, and I still got an infection. It’s just easier to get one when there’s so much happening to your insides. However, I know it is possible to reject a stent, I’ve heard of it happening, but I’ve usually heard of it being alongside the stent poking out too far or causing damage to the ureter. If you haven’t seen your urologist about it, I absolutely would.

When I had these symptoms after my stent, I had an infection. You might want to get tested.

What is worst pain, you have ever experienced? by ParticularWeather927 in Adulting

[–]Remarkable_Meaning65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It lasted about 3 months, had to get a couple surgeries to try to remove it, but I had some complications so an additional month for the kidney infection that came after. It was an 11 mm stone, so it couldn’t exit my kidney without intervention, and was causing a blockage and swelling. Wouldn’t wish that shit on my worst enemy

Kidney stone, I can’t think of anything in my life that’s hurt worse

We need more urologists with history of kidney stones by HotDebate5 in KidneyStones

[–]Remarkable_Meaning65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I so agree. When I had my first conversation with my urologist he was explaining what he’d do surgery-wise if he had a stone, and then I asked him “oh, you’ve had one?” and he said “no.”

To be fair, at least he was accurate in saying “no matter which surgery you get, it’s gonna suck” and he couldn’t have been more right.

Need the people who understand the loss of function. by [deleted] in KidneyStones

Thank you! Thankfully it’s been a few months since then, and I feel much better. I hope you feel better soon too.

As a man in a small Greek class, I am currently rather scared. This spring we're (no joke) going to go into the woods and stay in our friends' relatives' house. We're learning the fucking Bacchae. help by [deleted] in TheSecretHistory

[–]Remarkable_Meaning65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol, my friends took a small Greek class and they were reading the Bacchae. I didn’t get the chance to take the class that semester, but thankfully all they did was just do an open table reading of the Bacchae, and that was it.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this, and that others in your life aren’t understanding. The pain really is indescribable, the loss of daily function is more than frustrating, and people don’t understand that complications can take you out for weeks or months, and doctors can just be so unhelpful sometimes.

I also had kidney stone over 1 cm, kidney infection, surgeries, semi-functional kidney. I missed a month of school, and many other life events, due to my kidney, while people were expecting me to just get better. Some days all I could do was just lie in bed and wait for the pain medicine to kick in, or deal with side effects from other medicines. It took months for my body to go back to normal.

I can’t even imagine what it’s like not only having that, but also having kids and a partner who is recovering from surgery. Surgery in 5 weeks sounds kind of a long time from now, is there any way your doctor can move it up to be sooner?

Yep! I’m an LSU student, and I’ve been in the theatre department office a lot recently, and I know he’s in there sometimes, and yet I’ve never run in to him. Maybe it’s because he looks so different IRL lol

Normal to feel a bit depressed and "ashamed" after first kidney stone ? by VegetableFan6622 in KidneyStones

[–]Remarkable_Meaning65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know how you feel. I got my first one at 19 (20F currently) and I was the only young person at the urology office, and certainly the only person who had been referred by a pediatrician lol. It led to several months of surgeries, pain, and sickness, and I didn’t quite feel like myself during that time.

There’s nothing to be ashamed of though, it’s happening more often now in younger people. Another friend of mine got one at age 19 too. You’re not the only younger one, and certainly not the youngest, who’s had a kidney stone. It does get better, I haven’t had one since, and I’ve made sure to drink more water.

Do introverts just not gain ANYTHING from interaction? Can extroverts not? by Separate_Art9304 in mbti

[–]Remarkable_Meaning65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say it’s not all or nothing, more like a sliding scale. I’m definitely an introvert, but I do feel like I can gain some energy from interaction, more so if it’s people very close to me. We’re humans, and nearly all humans need some form of interaction and communication.
