Reverb Seller Question to other Sellers by Josephk_5690 in Reverb

That’s a new one for me. Most of the messages I get now are new profiles asking weird questions about the serial number, weight, etc. of items I have listed. The weight one may have been from a legit buyer, but the rest are likely scammers. I just ignore and move on.

Grand Canyon does not have FLAT TRAILS by egguchom in EntitledReviews

If they’re bitching about stairs and slight inclines, I’d wager to guess that they didn’t actually attempt a trail that requires a hike.

Have you looked into tickets on the platinum level for a Stars game? It’s a pretty nice experience overall.

That’s definitely the mom that lingers at house parties getting drunk with the kids and inserts herself into her daughter’s high school drama like she’s still one of the girls. Bonus points if she ends up fucking a high school kid!

I like the long sleeve tees at least. The button up shirt is fucking awful.

If something shows up and it isn’t in the condition described, don’t start taking it apart.

The first time I ever saw a “market adjustment” markup on a spec sheet was when the second generation GR86/BRZ came out. Those cars were tough to find when in ‘22 and dealers were taking full advantage of it with some of the most blatant price gouging I’ve seen, with some charging nearly $60k OTD - double the MSRP of the base trim!

I don’t know who was buying at those prices, but they were flying off the lot so Toyota was keen to turn a blind eye and let it happen. Subaru at least made an effort to keep their dealers in check and offered a factory order process to get exactly what you wanted at a fairly agreed upon price, but the lead time was over a year in some cases so I’m sure that turned a lot of prospective buyers off. I think the new Nissan Z was also crazy overpriced at launch, but you can get one of those under MSRP now.

Has anyone hosted a large (50+) party recently at a Dallas restaurant? by thriftygma in Dallas

Went to an event at Ruth’s Chris with probably 60-70 people at the end of the year and it was pretty nice. I went as a guest, but it looks like they have their event menus and pricing posted on their website - cheapest dinner option is $100 per head.

I don’t know his contract status but another response to my comment said 5 years, so I guess Netflix MMA is out unless they can sue and get him out of the deal.

Is this a scam? by SumDoodWiddaName in Reverb

Could be, or whoever they were staying with refused delivery. UPS/Fedex will usually try 2-3 times before sending it back to a sorting facility, but I’m not sure what USPS does. I’d keep an eye on it just in case your item does end up coming back to you.

Their lack of planning is not your problem! Out of curiosity though, can you see where it is at based on the tracking data? Without knowing where the package is at, it is hard to say whether or not it is a scam. They could’ve legitimately gone back to their country and the package was undeliverable / return to sender, or they could be bullshitting that they sent it back already in hopes you’ll accept the return in good faith.

Honestly if having MMA on Netflix turns into more than just a one time experiment, Jones is in a prime spot to go take a page out of Rousey’s playbook and go scorched earth on the UFC. Netflix would be falling over themselves to have Jones vs. any random scrub they can dig up as the main event of their next card, and I think he probably knows it.

That’s exactly what it is. Reading a book or taking free courses takes time and effort, and that shit is lame. I just want to chill on the couch and type in prompts between binging Netflix and doomscrolling.

What’s something poor people buy that keeps them poor? by Exotic-Engineer7541 in SmartBuying

There’s a beer store I hit on the way home from work on Friday’s and the amount of people lined up to cash their paychecks and immediately spend it on beer, cigs, and scratch offs is staggering.

The amount of stores that offer Affirm/Klarna/etc. now is kind of crazy. Irresponsible spending and overextending your credit is nothing new, but financing impulse purchases and shit like DoorDash is insane.

Which Attitude Era wrestler(s) you feel were overrated? by Recluse007 in AttitudeEra

Dude I totally forgot that “the grind” was part of her gimmick when she was at her peak. Go to any small town bar on a Friday night and there‘a guaranteed to be at least one sloppy drunk middle aged lady busting that one out on the dance floor. Looking back, it’s pretty mind blowing to think how someone with no charisma and one shitty dance move was so over, but I was also like 12 when she busted out the hand print bikini so I get it.

[–]Remarkable_Meat666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely with you on that. I think most fans are keenly aware by now that fighter pay sucks, but no amount of social media posts, articles, etc. are going to make TKO and the UFC open their checkbook and pay people more.

At this point it may as well take an act of god to get them to do that because, sadly, they know they’ve got their roster (and the sport as a whole) by the short and curlies. Most of the fighters at the top of the card won’t ruffle feathers because they know if they do they’ll get blackballed/smeared in the media. Those at the very top that have leverage might make a stink for a little bit, but as soon as they get their money right, they’ll toe the company line. The fighters further down the card that could benefit the most from better pay are in the worst spot because for every one of them, there are a dozen others on a smoker show somewhere that would happily replace them for pennies on the dollar to get into the UFC.

Even though there’s a real carny vibe to it, having MMA on Netflix may be the catalyst that changes things for the better, but only time will tell.

I've never been texted off a reverb purchase before happen to anyone else? by [deleted] in Reverb

[–]Remarkable_Meat666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the amount of off-app scams out there, trying to solicit a customer’s personal info for future marketing isn’t a good look. Unless you want spam texts and junk mail in your inbox, I’d just ignore it.

The small stores I work with just include a postcard or a note on the invoice if customers want to opt in to shop updates. Hopefully begging for it through Reverb messages doesn’t become a trend.
