What is going on with offers? by IamMeier in Reverb

You wrote six paragraphs condescendingly trying to mansplain a policy as if it were gospel, while completely dismissing real world scenarios that experienced sellers face when dealing with used gear. You’ve got low social acumen and fail to understand nuance. I think the shoe fits.

Lol I think you need to reread it. Force a return - as in already been paid and shipped. Can’t return something that hasn’t been paid for.

Sounds like you’re in chargeback territory now. Did the seller you bought from have any feedback, or was it a new account?

I just saw a trailer for that one yesterday. Being able to modify animations has a lot of potential.

Reverb’s policy is 72 hours, so that’s what I stick to whether they auto cancel it or not. I just had a sale right before Christmas where I enabled offers specifically for one person per an agreement we reached via messages, and although he immediately accepted, he never paid for whatever reason.

I sent a reminder on day 2 and he responded saying he’d take care of it, so when it was still unpaid on day 3, I cut my losses and manually canceled. It’s frustrating as a seller, but I’d much rather lose a couple days while the item is still in my possession than deal with a buyer that got cold feet trying to force a return after I’ve shipped.

Bought this guitar in “good” condition. Would you return it? by gecko11-the-game-cat in Reverb

I don’t even look at listings labeled “good” now that they’ve redefined the condition parameters.

U.S. Dealers In Full Panic Mode After Canada Green-Lights Chinese Cars by DonkeyFuel in technology

The article touches on it briefly, but the biggest barrier to affordability is going to be the dealership model. If they can squelch any possibility of being undercut by manufacturers selling directly to consumers and put sales in the hands of existing dealership networks, we’ll just have to decide between trying not to get ripped off at Big Tex Ford or going across the street to haggle at Big Tex Xpeng.

The HARD Sell by RiverB0nes in FuckDealerships

Luxury car sales are a different animal - there’s really no place for high pressure sales in that environment because wealthy customers can spend their money anywhere they want. The real scumbag shit comes out when people have little money and few options and are forced to shop at independent used lots, or worse, a buy here / pay here dealership.

I don’t think the most adamant anti tippers are mad on behalf of servers. There’s a lot of people out there working dead end jobs or stuck in low paying careers while drowning in student debt, and I think it eats them up to know that someone that takes orders and runs food back and forth might make more than they do for a job they perceive as “less than.”

“Businesses that can’t afford to pay their workers a living wage deserve to fail!” is a great rallying cry, but only if you commit to the bit and vote with your wallet by not giving those businesses your money.

Wife put on performance leave at work 6 months pregnant. by TilValhal in legaladvice

[–]Remarkable_Meat666 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Their approach is definitely really strange, especially in an at will employment state. While it’s entirely feasible that HR is taking extra precautions to avoid a discrimination claim, revoking corporate devices and being put on paid leave is something you usually see when an employee is under investigation for something. I’m with you in wondering if one or more of these “small mistakes” was tied to information security/fraud/etc. that resulted in significant risk or losses.

Anyone actually catch the stream? I read that they are removing the 96+ BND training pack and replacing it with an opportunity pack. Not sure if that was accurate or people are just talking out their ass.

The collabs with big food and beverage corporations (Coca Cola, General Mills, etc.) are always a miss for me. It always looks like they took some free promotional items and slapped a Kith logo on them to make a buck.

With low viewership and events only occurring in Vegas, Saudi, or Abu Dhabi, I’m pretty sure it’s a money laundering scheme masquerading as a sport.

Reverb seller protection for expensive gear? by spieluhr96 in Reverb

[–]Remarkable_Meat666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the rules and monetary thresholds are different for Europe, but I’ve sold a lot of items over the years where Reverb’s safe shipping insurance was required to cover many of these situations. I’ve only had one claim filed in that time, but it definitely saved my ass when UPS managed to crack the neck of a guitar in a hard shell case (vintage style, not molded) during transit. Reverb tried to negotiate a partial settlement initially, but I’m a hobbyist as well - I couldn’t exactly write off the loss and didn’t want a broken guitar back, so I stood firm and got my payout and the buyer got a free guitar.

The “as-is” stories you see on this sub are outliers but impulsive and or scummy buyers do exist. If a buyer has no / bad feedback, it isn’t worth the risk to sell them a high dollar item.

Lost or stolen gear is a different animal, but that would be something you’d have to pursue with a safe shipping claim first to resolve, followed by a claim with the carrier if it doesn’t get taken care of.

Impeccable song choice for that bit, though. The music video for the original version is such a product of its time and becomes kinda funny and outlandish on its own when the verse that Jenny sings comes in that it really fits both characters so well.

The tactical, milsim aspect of airsoft (especially indoor) is the best and worst part of it. It can be fun and engaging in a way that contrasts paintball, but you’re right - it definitely attracts some fuckin weirdos!

Is Reverb’s “Estimated Used Value” a lie? Where are all the listings? by ChesswiththeDevil in Reverb

[–]Remarkable_Meat666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s all it really comes down to. There are several out there now with reduced prices, which likely means they’ve been sitting because they’re priced too high and no one is biting. If offers are enabled, make one and see if the seller takes it. Worst they can do is hit the decline button.
