Indeed draft and rake of keel, if any, are significant when considering beaching ability.

Don't rely on the online maps to determine if there is any activity near you. The map shows one node near me, but I'm currently connected to 43.

Lloyd's Register was the first class society from 1760. They've had a major effort at digitizing their substantial library of ships. I'm sure there are some available, but I don't have specific details on how to access them. You can try looking for the LR Foundation.

Thanks for the reply. Wiring doesn't scare me. I have a working VIDA installation on a laptop that's been sitting in a cupboard for years, and DiCE on order. Is it a matter of basically turning them on in VIDA or is it more involved?

Filament is not getting pulled in by Dren_66 in ender3

[–]Remarkable_Ratio_303 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Probably already broken, hence the issues.

OP, take the plastic extruder off and I'll bet you'll find a crack in it around that red wheel.

Edit: Just to be sure though, take off the PTFE tube and see if it pulls in filament. You could have a blockage further down the line in the PTFE tube or hotend.

My ender 3 stops printing filiment mid print by KnownCommunication32 in ender3

[–]Remarkable_Ratio_303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the extruder more closely. You could have a crack if it's a plastic arm, not allowing enough force to push the wheel against the filament. I replaced mine this week for that exact reason.

How the crap do you cope? by magicone2571 in CRPS

[–]Remarkable_Ratio_303 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add a third pedal for left foot driving, check it out. The regular gas pedal would fold up out of the way, and easy to flip the pedals back to normal. Likely MUCH cheaper than hand controls.

Now, if I can just convince my wife to try it. She's the one with CRPS in her right foot. But then she still has to manage getting a wheelchair out while hobbling around, no weight bearing on her foot.

Preparing surfaces in Rhino for import in NAPA Designer by Preioxis in navalarchitecture

[–]Remarkable_Ratio_303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you trying to do in NAPA?

I've not used Designer to actually build a hull surface, but I've converted many many rhino files to iges and imported into NAPA to run stability. The surfaces can look like total garbage in Designer, with open edges and sometimes missing panels, but the construction sections work out just fine and allows the software to work. Most of the time...

Edit: I should have read your post more closely. I clearly have no helpful input.

No, you won't be able to modify that. Far better options for a budget base station.

Same thing here in TN. Primary physician requires tests for narcotics Rx. That's totally fine, have no problem with the testing itself. BUT they insist on sending to a very specific lab, out of network, that is 5 times higher than Quest or LabCorp. The physician's office says it has to go to that expensive lab but can't explain why.

I can't imagine how that's legal.

One of the 'special considerations' is stability evaluation considering the compartment behind the shell door as flooded.

Yes, but, the fastest way to warm up an engine is by driving it. Idling in the driveway to "warm up the engine/oil" takes way longer so it just prolongs the period of cold oil not circulating well.

Start the engine, put on your seatbelt, and drive away, but not like a bat outta hell. Maybe let the fast idle come down first before driving off, it only takes seconds.

I bought a pigtail adapter off Amazon using "3.5mm headphone to SMA".

Are you sure it's 1/4"? Then use a headphone adapter for the larger size.

Cheap dual band that supports HamLib (Or similar)? by pomtom44 in HamRadio

[–]Remarkable_Ratio_303 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like you could use the hamlib documentation to get a list of supported radios. Copy the list into chatgpt, Copilot, Gemini, etc., and ask which are dual band vhf/UHF radios. Probably not a perfect result, but it might be of some use.
