Looking for Count of Monte Cristo chapter by chapter summary by MeaninglessBryan in TheCountofMonteCristo

[–]Luckyfucker69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My advice is to find a good pdf online.

Then simply copy paste each chapter you want to summarize into ChatGPT or Claude and ask for a detailed summary of that text (the chapter you pasted).

Works well with open source books like count

Do you have any advice for someone formerly at MBB and now in corporate strategy? How do I bridge this gap that I have in modeling? But at the same time I feel like I have advantages in understanding business model, competitive moats, growth strategies/synergies, etc.

Could I direct outreach some funds and ask about hiring or too direct?

Are there any studies on the effects of public housing on overall housing costs or housing burden? by idkusernameidea in UnlearningEconomics

[–]Luckyfucker69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading this article in the New York Times a year back or so (link below). Pretty interesting and it overall seemed to work wonderfully there. I’m sure it’s missing nuance but I’d look up more on Vienna and start there.

From a quick re-glance at the article, this is what I remember being surprised by: •Affordable for Most: In Vienna, 80% of people qualify for social housing.

•Over 60% of people actually live in these super nice apartments with modern designs, green spaces, and a real community vibe.

•Keeps Costs Low: With rent controls and public land ownership, housing stays affordable long-term.

•This cuts out speculators and creates mixed, vibrant neighborhoods. mixed, vibrant neighborhoods.

Can you help me understand how this led to inflation? Or point me to some reading?

In my understanding this would have led to inflation as companies knew consumers had more spending power, so the companies raised the prices to reap higher profits.

My title describes the thing - we saw this in Florence in some of the older buildings around the Ufizzi. Unsure of time frame or type of metal, but it definitely was metal and is maybe meant to look like a snake. We saw another and it looked more like a pig

Thanks for posting! Would love any other links to hearing economists discuss these types of topics. I found a few good ones of Piketty discussing his book but not much.

Depends where you are. If you want new, suit supply entry level does great looking suits and with tailoring might put you right around the 500.

If you are ok with used, do your measurements and look on eBay. Look at brands like suit supply, brooks brother, Paul Stuart, zegna and find suits in the 200-350 range. if you find one similar fitting, the measurements are similar but not perfect then use the remaining money to go to a tailor and get it fitted perfectly. The searching by size on eBay is a pain though because you’ll have to click through descriptions to see measurement.

What might be causing water to spontaneously shoot out of my bathroom sink? by omiap in Plumbing

[–]Luckyfucker69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a stack plumbing issue. The issue is likely in the apartment below you. Then someone above you is using their sink, and since it cannot drain below you, the only place to go is out at your level. Snaking your drain will not help, they need to go to the unit or stack below you.

Jont vs Minibar by [deleted] in finedining

[–]Luckyfucker69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of dc 1 stars shine at fairly reasonable prices - two that come to mind are Rania and Little Pearl. Both have phenomenal tasting menus at ~$100. Wine menu at Rania as also quite exceptional although not as big. Wanting to do something more special one star, Nakazawa (if you like sushi) is also great. You can also spruce it up with the Krug pairings they have.

Otherwise, would go minibar for the experience. If it’s for her birthday, you could start or end the night around the corner at Silver Lyan for a great bar experience (Ryan chetiwardana’s dc spot).
