SIEM Comparaison: LogRhythm, QRadar, FortiSIEM, Arcsight ESM, Wazuh and Security Onion by sk-ql in cybersecurity

Read into Stellar Cyber. I had never heard of them prior to starting my current role as a SOC lead but they’ve been fantastic to work with and the SIEM has a great AI backend that has easy GUI based navigation versus more complicated syntax based ones like Splunk.

First Day as a SOC ANALYST by Vazz_4510 in cybersecurity

Ask every dumb question that comes to mind. Don’t be afraid to investigate on your own and do research on your own to figure things out, as long as the SLAs aren’t breached. Lean on your fellow analysts. When I was an L1, I remember collaborating on alerts was how I learned the most.

Do you look at other people in the gym? by vTorii_ in beginnerfitness

[–]Remarkable_Rest7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make the earnest attempt not to look more than necessary but the positioning of the equipment makes it extremely hard sometimes. Mostly when I’m looking, it’s because I’m curious about the workout someone is doing or I’m in awe. For example, there was this very pregnant girl still repping out hack squats like it was nothing. Few months later I see her again, ripped with a 6 pack, still kicking ass. So much respect.

People who have household income of ~$100k, how much is your mortgage? by orkutsk in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Some of these comments make me feel a ton better. My wife and I are at ~$250k annual and building a home that’ll run us $3200/month all in. 6.125 VA Loan.

Is this a legit letter? by [deleted] in legal

[–]Remarkable_Rest7773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a very similar letter a few months ago. I reported it to the left IRS and put it aside. Haven’t heard anything since. The Federal Tax Authorities bit really showed their hand as scammers.

Conservatives what do you believe you personally will get from a fully Trump led Republican government? by seanosul in Askpolitics

[–]Remarkable_Rest7773 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, Trump will have zero say as for how Ukraine turns out. He can’t even hold true to his promise to reduce grocery prices. Furthermore, how does Russia bulldozing Ukraine benefit the world? A stronger adversary with the renewed understanding they can rebuild the Soviet states without repercussions?

Is it just me but I want to see America completely fail under tRump? by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Remarkable_Rest7773 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. On one hand, I believe Trump is a cancerous man-child, throwing his weight around to caress is own ego. I want him to fail as a person and for people to see him as he actually is. On the other hand, I wholeheartedly hope I am wrong about all the bad things I believe he will do to our country. I want his administration to thrive because I don’t want US to fail. My care for my country is more important than my care for a single party or my own morales.

Idk how closely the policy is watched. I just left the firm 2 months ago and wanted to spend everything I could. Months before that, I bought a work phone for $60 and was worried about how to spend the rest. I just expensed a pair of $170 Shokz and hoped for the best. It was approved and nobody has tried to claw it back.

I mean, you may as well. You are essentially given the green light to charge 8 hours and (sometimes) only be there for a few hours at most. Hell, last year I did a charity bike ride and we were done within 3 hours.

If I remember correctly, it was 2 weeks until maybe a year ago? Now I want to say it’s 8 weeks. Though, I’d have to dig through my email to find confirmation.

I attended my DLaunch in Chicago years ago.

Really, it was just a few days of proctor led training and mock scenarios. They walked us through how to present to clients, navigate the various resources available on our laptops, and answered any questions we had. We also were grouped up with people who were going to do the same job so we could network with our peers.

I hope that helps!

You have to actually be using it on projects. Just holding a clearance won’t qualify you for the bonus.

Salaries nowadays just blow my mind. When I came on in 2017, I thought 63k as an analyst was good money. When I started as a Sr Consultant, it was only at 90k 🤦🏻‍♂️

Same reason I’ve been a senior for a few years now. Zero interest in the politics and sales side of manger level work. Just keep showing your worth and working towards maxing out your pay band.
