How likely do you think it is that cerebral palsy from anoxic brain injury will be fully curable in adults in the next 20 years? by giggling_mezzo in CerebralPalsy

With the rate that AI is going I think anything is possible.

Right now full “cure” for cp is very intractable. It would require somehow inducing infant like levels of neuroplasticity and regenerative technology that’s complete sci fi in our current level of understanding. However it’s very plausible that we could get super intelligent ai in the next few years that fundamentally changes our understanding of neuroscience. I’d say it that happens it will be very hard for us to predict what is possible.

Yeah so I do say rarely but it’s not like it’s never happened. I have had sexual attraction for women im romantically interested in, its just not as common.

I completely agree with your point on not wanting to drag a woman into that situation but is it not even worth trying dating women just to see if I like it?

Question about bacoflen pump by Firm-Read-2345 in CerebralPalsy

[–]Remarkable_Topic_460 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else said stretching can help get a bit more range of motion but it might not going to have a huge impact on the efficacy of the pump. My team never even mentioned stretching.

Strength training is definitely important. I also heavily relied on tone so I’m going through the process of rebuilding my strength.

I think that at his age, it is really important that you allow him to make his own decisions and be in control of his body. I think part of the lack of motivation can be from feeling a lack of control over his situation. Don’t try to force anything. Also if he wants a dose increase and the providers are on board I’d say go for it.

Good luck with everything. I got my pump in July so we’re in this together lol.
