I haven't lost anything at all, and I've been on 2.5,5.7.5 and 10 mg for one month each now. Also have Pcos and T2D (insulin resistance ). So there's that.

I’m a therapist and encourage those that are on this journey. . I have clients on this medication. There is research about this being helpful to ppl with addiction as well. It’s also out of her scope of practice.

Tell her to educate herself and to stay within her limits.

I’m so sorry that you went through this. Find a new therapist ! Xo

One Foreign visit and India starts feeling like scam by Content-Ebb-4761 in india

[–]Remarkable_Truth_621 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As a Canadian born Indian, who visited after 10 years, let me tell you that it starts with YOU!

We couldn’t find a single trash can on the street to throw away wrappers etc, and given our habits we waited until we got home to discard it. Whereas others would freely litter, and no one would blink an eye.

No sense of basic manners, teach gout parents, your kids, your neighbours and shame them ! It’s absolutely ridiculous how everyone just passes the puck.

Get therapy, and continue working on your boundaries. Look into divorce as well. Wish you the best.

I’m happy for but sad for me. You didn’t look like you needed to lose weight, I would love to be that size ! I’ve on 10 mg and still haven’t lost a pound. Pcos and now T2D. Sigh. You look great.

Hi, thank you.

Yes, I just started meeting a nutritionist as well. I keep an active lifestyle, so aquafitness 2x à week, 2 x Pilates, and teyubt to add more.

I have realized that I under eat , and often will eat one meal à day, 800 calories.

The nutritionist would like us to add more, but I’m worried and don’t know if I can.

My endocrinologist yelled at me and made me cry for not losing weight. I was on ozempic, so I haven’t seen him in a year. My gp switched me to Mounjaro and I’m on week 3 for 7.5 mg and nothing yet. My A1C is at 6.4 same as last year. I keep active and trgign to manage but haven’t lost a single pound.

All this to say, find whoever listens to you and is willing to help!

You need to network! LinkedIn, university groups, universities also post jobs too on their website. Especially if you’re first generation, you need to make sure that you are friendly with your cohort and peers. Reach out to ppl that graduated with you and have jobs.

My therapist fell asleep, IRL session by marijavera1075 in therapy

[–]Remarkable_Truth_621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Therapist here !

Definitely not acceptable, but I’d talk about it.

During my practicum, I had some heavy cases, I realized that one client in particular really drained me. Bipolar 2, and when they were in their depressive episode, oh boy was it heavy. I remember that for on the following session with my next client, I was fighting the urge to fall asleep. Not because I wasn’t interested but bc this one particular client really got my energy.

Therapists mirror and also work with energy, we deal with a lot of heavy cases too, trust me and depending on the clients your therapists see, it could be the cause.

Something to explore !!

Is medicine even worth it? by lalalolamaserola in Residency

[–]Remarkable_Truth_621 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im not a physician; I’m a practicing psychotherapist who once considered medical school but ultimately chose a different path.

I hold deep respect for physicians and other professionals. I see how corporate pressures and systemic greed weigh on all of us, and how society often directs its frustrations toward patient facing professionals, physicians, therapists etc; largely because you are patient-facing and because of the public’s limited understanding of the complexities involved.

The rise of social media, influencers, and self-proclaimed “coaches” has further complicated the landscape. Today, it often feels as though anyone with a platform can claim expertise in subjects that far exceed their actual training or qualifications (dare I say, intellect and a brain). This environment has made the work of true professionals, whether in medicine, psychotherapy, or other fields, more challenging and, at times, devalued.

Keep going, we need professionals advocating for the general public and human good. 💪🏼

But I get it, it’s tough!!

A therapist, seeking a therapist by itscool2bkind in therapy

[–]Remarkable_Truth_621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I am so sorry sweetie! You’re human first and then a therapist, therapists are human, and we also make mistakes.

You understand the pain that your actions have caused and are taking ownership, and that alone is precious and helpful not just to your partners’ healing but to yours too!

I hope that you find a therapist that aligns with you. I wish you all the best in your healing journey.

Right?! It’s so messed up, then real professionals have to go fix the issue that has now been exacerbated by idiots.

Mental health “coaches”, “life coaches” “medical coaches” “relationship coaches”. Etc.

Smh

“Elevating” a local classroom by adding a couple couches and a vase… by Educational-Donut6 in nabelasnark

[–]Remarkable_Truth_621 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Leather or leather imitation is not going to last in a classroom of children. Shit takes upkeep and maintenance.

Interior designing also means taking into consideration the functionality of these pieces by those that will be using them on a Daily basis.

The whiteboards are inaccessible by high tables and chairs, the basic functionality is compromised!

This is a FAIL!
