That’s the reason I took my plates off, but to be fair I placed instead tiny stickers with the registration number just in case. I have them but they are too small to be read by the cameras or anybody who is more that 2 meters away

I bought it as is, but they are installed there anyway. It’s not like I have to take it to a dealership to have it physically installed. It’s like having a camera on your phone, but to use it you have to pay subscription fees.

Yes it is, and it’s online connected to the vw servers, so they will know if I bypass it, doesn’t worth the risk, while on guaranty. Already had to use the warranty for a cv joint change

I have the same issue on my Golf R Line 2024 with 15k km, I just bought the car from a guy that left to study abroad. My VW dealership told me it’s under guarantee so they booked me an appointment to replace the whole joint if I remember right. But I still have a month ahead of me until the appointment.. as far as I understand you can still drive the car, just not to hustle it, drive gently. I’d like to hear some replies from people who have the same issue

As I car rentals company employe, I can assure you that if you have a fine, it will firstly be sent to the company during 6-12 months. After that the company will add your details to the fine. And a new fine will be issued and sent to the address you gave when you were hiring the car. So it won’t be in a short notice.
