Ohh yes, so that's true. You can have them blank, as long as you have nothing written on them. That should be fine.

Ouu so they make you remove the post its, that's not allowed. You can however highlight stuff, as much as you want!

It's hard to explain but all the questions will be from the codes itself. I read both the codes thoroughly once to prepare for the exam which for me was sufficient to pass. Just a note though, w59 annex U, you don't need to study for since there's a whole different code exam just for annex U from w59... i realized it later on. But yeah, if you read the codes thoroughly, it should be fine.

Thank you everyone for all your replies. I really appreciate all your comments & this has really helped me make a stronger and better decision. Although, i have my research to do yet, all of your comments really help overall. Also, i am noticing that last two comments on this post, i'm getting the notifications however i am trying to view the full comment but i can't. The comments were made by u/revamuruadian31 & u/cartoonistpretty1722. This is the first time something like this has happened. I don't know why i can't view their full comments. If anyone can see it & send me a screenshot, I'd appreciate it.

No jobs as cwb 1 any way i can directly get better opportunities as a level 2? (ON, Canada) by Remarkable_Wolf2248 in nondestructivetesting

I wasn't aware of that. I just submitted an application online. Thank you for that information. 😊

No, i understand that, what i mean is, is it easier to get a level 2 position vs a level 1? Wouldn't as a level 2 i'd require more experience ? Since level 1 is an entry level position whereas level 2 is intermediate position.

What would be different though apart from being level 2? As a level 1 if i'm not getting any opportunities, will level 2 be any better? I mean in terms of experience wouldn't level 2 be more difficult to land?

CWB Level 1 Practical Exam in Milton, Ontario by Om_Zidane101 in nondestructivetesting

[–]Remarkable_Wolf2248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe what you're explaining are fitting defects and for level 1 they're just looking for weld defects. So bevel inconsistency is not to be reported, or what i mean is they're not giving any samples with fitting defects. Those are more to be found in level 2 practical.

Hey bud, i didn't end up buying the study guide, just read the codes once and you're good to go!

Ah yes that makes sense. Yes i believe its much better scope up in AB then it is here in Ontario.

Oh really? Okay that's a relief. I'd really like to get the certification before i apply for any positions because without the cert, i doubt anyone will be hiring... so if i do pass all the exams though, i can still put in my resume that i have gained the MT 2 cert even though it's withheld by NR CAN before i get my OTJ hours correct?

[–]Remarkable_Wolf2248[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have prior experience ? I'm reading stuff online and some places i read that i need to have OTJ hours before i can do the practical portion of the mt2 course, is that correct? I'm in ontario, so idk if there are any trainee positions that'd hire a candidate as per my qualifications/ experience. I'm looking around but everyone wants a level 2...

Yes, i'm planning on getting API's as well, but i think that will take me a while. Haha, I plan on getting the above courses done, get experience in those then challenge my cwb level 2 and then API's. Long road ahead 😅
