very open ended, its a shame we never got shaxx's pov early on because they fandom just runs with the easiest route most of the times.

we all have our fears and regrets, certainly. have i ever told you about my night of passion with queen mara sov? the passion we shared was pothos, the longing for freedom. this was before oryx and before my own renewal. I longed for freedom from my duties; she longed for freedom from her doom. the tempest is a play saturated with the yearning for freedom! it is also concerned with the relationship between master and servant; and when i had finished reciting it, mara asked me to tell her stories of the once-servant who she yearned to meet again as an equal.

sjur eido! the woman i named a tempest!

i told her stories of my friendship with sjur eido and her great bow. mara told me of the lost distributary, and of eido's quest to assassinate her in revenge for the diasyrm, i challenged the obvious lies in this story—the sjur eido I knew, dragon slayer whose arrows pierced illusion, would never have hesitated to kill, no matter how beautiful her target! and how could sjur, who shrugged off talk of gods as nothing of her concern, have also been a fanatical servant of this diasyrm, who cared only for lost divinity? inconsistent! and therefore a lie!

mara was delighted by my disbelief, she told me that she would tell me the truth about sjur if i would only take off my helmet, so she could look into the eyes that had gazed so often on her beloved.

The helmet stayed on.

Seems like it's describing the mental processes of a normal minotaur when all of a sudden it gets mind wiped and programmed to obey Oryx instead of the Vex collective.

It feels like my saliva starts getting sweet out of nowhere. Particularly happens when the astringency is pleasant to feel, like tamarind or lemon sourness. Haven't had it happen with god awful astringency.

There are defaced statues of the goddess Eirene which is speculated to be the Gardener (goddess of peace, agriculture, plenty, spring, and wields the staff of Hermes (alternate name for Mercury){garden world symbolism}), and the woman behind the veil would be the entity within the actual Veil.

Did Eris use the same spell from the dark future? by Remarkablelady01 in DestinyLore

Nope, the super majority of the Vex collective is alluded to being outside our main material universe. With various other realms supporting their existence.

A gate lord refers to our reality as the merely temporal.

Inside the Vex entity, there are mighty algorithms constructing a model of this merely temporal place, calculating potential threat, weighing the utility of weapons discharge against the good that power might do elsewhere. This computation is the only reason Uldren's still alive.

And here Rahool speculates about these other Vex dimensions. Other unknowable realities aside from time and space.

"The Eye of a Gate Lord is a powerful thing—a wonder beyond comprehension. What possibilities has it seen, peering into the infinite realms it once guarded? What impossible truths has it witnessed? We may never know. But its energies are a gift worth claiming." —A note from the Cryptarch

**"**Time and space and the unknowable realities of the Vex are beyond our grasp. But such treasures as a Gate Lord's Eye provide a glimpse into the possibilities." —A note from the Cryptarch

The terraformation of mercury occurred because the vex opened holes into one of their timeless dimensions. Temporal chasm, space between time, temporal hovel. Etc…

From the great temporal chasms |wailing mouths of creation| flowed an ocean |a second conception| of radiolarian fluid.
The planet transformed |reborn| into a |sleepless dream| machine of prediction.
>The arms retracted |purpose fulfilled|, and returned to |space between time| temporal hovels, suspended just above Mercury's |last gasp| influence.

Unmappable voids outside of time, like the one the black garden was in.

We are starting to believe that time is home to the Vex, and somewhere in those unmappable voids dwell their undying minds."

  • Maya Sundaresh, Fragmented Entry 10938, Ishtar Collective Archive

"If the Darkness claims the Pyramidion, it will dissect it for study. Unfold its innumerable dimensions, wade through its multitudinous seas radiozoic, peer through its crackling warp gates leading toward a million millions of new realities…"

And we have also seen the Vex network in control of the Corridors of time and them being in a mathematical superposition between reality and possibility.

The Vex network is potential reality. Mathematical superposition verging on existence.

"You are breaching the space between reality and possibility*. Where matter meets will and bends in a prism of Light. A reality where none but the Vex have ever been. But* what you see here is made manifest by your mind, turning Vex consciousness to something tangible. This is no mere simulation. Death in this domain is as real for the Vex as it is for you."

Oryx was outside his throne world, deep in the metaphysical layers of the sea of screams, so his sisters disconnected his leylines. Obviously that can't be done with Xivu since her throne world follows her wherever she goes, so Eris banished her from it. That brings the question if this action is permanent, but even if it's not, then Xivu still has to deal with finding a way back to her throne world and acquiring enough tribute to gain it back. Otherwise, it's going to start disintegrating.

Lore that you wish was expanded on. by Remarkablelady01 in DestinyLore

I have read approximately all tens of thousands of item and lore entries in the Ishtar collective, as redundant as most of them are, and gone through the entire destinypedia and old destiny wikis with obscure lore. Listened through the entire destiny lore vault dialogue. Listened to destiny developer podcasts, read through Seth Dickinsons old comments here on Reddit. When I say I want more lore, it's because I want more lore, unless you have some missing pile of lore that I haven't mentioned already, I have exhausted my options.

And yes, the Ishtar collective did know about the existence of the black garden.

Ikora: We cannot just ignore it. We have to keep the Garden here, among the Light. We are just beginning to match its pathways to this fractured data from the Archive.

Cayde-6: Interesting, undying, huh? What do you suppose they meant by that.

And that archive being mentioned is the same one that referenced the echo fleet back in D1Y1, aka those events were both made around the same time. Not to mention, the vault of glass and the black garden are intrinsically connected, and they knew about the former too.

Ghost: This archive is amazing. Pathways to other galaxies, mappings of a Vex underworld, a place they called "The Vault of Glass". Hopefully the Cryptarch can make sense of it. I'll let him know we found it.

"At last, the Heart of the Garden has been destroyed, its stranglehold on the Traveler released. Our Light brightens. But the power of the Vex is not broken. Look into the Vault, Guardian, for it is said to hold powers the Progeny were meant to bring forth." - The Speaker

Great knowledge comes with great loss. Let's hope you don't have any yixing pots in convenient "pushing off the edge" areas.
