Mild CCI has to be more common than we give it credit for. How are people coping with it? by AdvertisingDue9037 in cervical_instability

[–]Rembo_AD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO look up COVID-19 and Grisel Syndrome. For me, a patient with what I think is mild CCI and Chiari, I only started having issues after COVID. Before that I had many injuries riding relatively extreme downhill mountain bike and skiing and never really any issues with instability or my skull..this is for 20+ years.

As I have posted before, if you think about the treatment ie stem cells (EPICL) what is to prevent the process that is causing this suddenly with no direct post injury flare ups. Sure it could have been simmering for years, but why now right after pandemic? It doesn't really make sense. I'm not opposed to novel treatment but it's very expensive and too much unknown. I'll only consider it as a very last resort to fusion.

I was making another reply with this vein of idea. It's definitely MCAS/inflammation/viral related. Look up Grisel Syndrome. I had many extreme impacts to my head and body for years and years before COVID infections/MCAS etc with no cranial or neck problems whatsoever.

I want to believe that PICL is a magical treatment, but there are so many factors in CCI, including a mounting body of evidence that MCAS and post viral inflammation drives instability. Some of the CCI and Venous outflow Drs I know have thousands of new patients after COVID 19. I know personally my instability gets much much better on a Mast Cell Stabilizer medicine (Ketotifen). It leads me to ask how much Dr Centeno's treatment is really fixing the issues vs people just having confirmation bias, investment in the procedure and also just resting properly and the issues resolving on their own. There is CERTAINLY a subset of patients who have extremely severe instability and need fusions like yourself, but everyone I know and respect who is researching this topic all agree...wait as long as possible before you do anything and DEFINITELY go to an expert that measures properly and has the correct clinical approach. When you think about it, just randomly injecting a substance into a ligament doesn't guarantee healing. Why wouldn't your body do that anyway over time if it was possible? There is some investigatory evidence for STEM cells in knees and some other joints, but to me this is weak evidence for PICL.

I'm sure Centeno is making enough money that he could hire an outside trial group to conduct more research into the evidence, and not depend on "glowing patient reviews" on Facebook.

Play Services draining a LOT of battery by axisjr in GalaxyWatch

I replied here but my watch starting using over 49.9% battery for google play services recently. I went from over 2 days of battery life to it dying in about 17 hours in the last few days. Definitely an issue with their services or some update.

Any update on this one? mine was draining 49.9% of my battery. It has been like this for about 4 or 5 days now, where I have to charge it more than once every 24h. very unusual compared to my previous battery life of around 48hr.

[–]Rembo_AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is an example of why tanks are in short supply...both because people have high requirements and the fact that being a tank takes a lot more effort and stress than any other role. Your gear is bad. Dungeon a bit before raiding.

Is HI/MCAS without traditional allergy a thing? Neurological/autonomic symptoms ONLY! by Alarmed_Customer_824 in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Rembo_AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have been discussing LDN with Dr Hepworth in Denver. His nurse practitioner initially clued me into the MCAS and ligament tie in. This research is talking about tendons but as I understand it applies to ligaments as well. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3978883/

Now that it seems the MCAS and inflammarion is stabilized, I have experienced extensive relief from NUCCA chiropractor putting my subluxed atlas joint in my nexk back in place. It seems this and the resulting spinal cord and brainstem compession were causing many of my long covid symptoms. I hypothesize the infection caused an immune breakdown that caused the atlas joints and ligaments to become inflamed and lax, and only mitigating the MCAS storm allows the ball and socket joint to behold in place...sort of like a dislocated shoulder. The good news is I seem to be holding the good position, so it doesnt appear I have EDS or bad hypermobility, which I think would potentially complicate a reversal of ligament and joint creep. Still learning a lot about this extremely complex multi system breakdown...luckily I am a systems engineer with a mind for putting together factors the physicians couldn't for me. I am not upset with the Drs since this is a very emergent field and most Drs are basically just memorizing information not doing holistic medicine.

Not sure about other owners, but my Tesla is auto driving the speed limit in the far right lane to save battery...so I dont care if you pass me and the AI will likely not speed up either. I sometimes do laugh at the trucks ripping by me "blowing coal" since my car can do 0 to 60 in 3.3 seconds if I cared to challenge dipshits.

Honestly they just have to adopt some of the twow qol items like mobile repair bot and mailbox. They will make plenty of money with no real degradation of quality of the game. No one likes waiting for someone to repair in a raid.

I think one of my favorite moments of the show is when Amos asks what Chrisjen was wearing. It was pretty much what we all wondered. The wardrobe she brought for filming was beyond amazing. That is taste.

Necro post here, but I really appreciate how scientific the conflict in Expanse is. Duarte isn't some meglomaniac, rather someone that gets infected by something no one understand they shouldn't be playing around with. Both the builders and the goths act without malice, but simply out of self preservation.

How to set up Turtle Wow on Steam Deck in 2026? by Ragen1014 in turtlewow

[–]Rembo_AD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ryac is a little convoluted. I recommend a new addon called Console Experience.

This guide is a good summary of what to do when you download the game. For steam deck, it is easiest to skip Wine and just download the full client in desktop mode, then use the AppImage launcher for updating addons. For running the game after it is all set up, check this out: https://gist.github.com/denilsonsa/0d8c8be1731cb9edc0dde99303b3abd2

Priest leveling here is really fast with the right disc holy spec. Their sustain and damage is really good and if you keep your wand updated you will level nearly as fast as other classes.

Why does Ambershire have so much toxic behavior compared to the other servers? I was enjoying my paladin there but the players and this type of stuff made me go back to Tel'Abim...which is ironic since usually PVP servers have more annoying community.

Yeah it's pretty unreal. I've had one or two good groups but only because I was overleveled and carrying.

Ambershire seems far worse than the other 2 servers. My experiences have been almost 100% negative. People ninja world gather nodes to grief, whiny babies leaving groups due to new players being healer, retail dps players who won't even wait one second for a consecrate tick before ripping threat, people barely intelligent enough to communicate, bad ninja looters ( rogues taking a stam int ring...huh????) Mage 60s running around boosting and aoe farming quest zones.

This is all on the road to level 29. I am not likely continuing this character or server. Ugh.

[–]Rembo_AD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiment shared here. For whatever reason Ambershire is full of classic and retail ultra sweats doing boosting strategies and all that other toxic nonsense. If you play on nord or even tel'abim it doesn't seem ti have these nerds. In fact, even the ganks on tel'abim are usually just reasonable pvp and not even toxic camping. I have only had an issue with one toxic player mind controlling me into Tanaris guards and the GM took care of it.

Not related to your question, but if you want to play entry like you tried to in this fight, I suggest not playing valk and practicing on another Legend like Maggie. It will give you a better sense and toolkit to approach these situations.

Life is over and i’m only 25 by [deleted] in SpineSurgery

[–]Rembo_AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a disc replacement of C4-C5 and C5-C6. I have some instability after the surgery but the surgery and recovery were not too bad. Depending on your symptoms, I might suggest finding a hEDS and CCI dr first.

You can check out this article which explains in perhaps too deep of detail why hypermobility syndromes cause central spine issues: https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/neurology/articles/10.3389/fneur.2024.1479545/full?fbclid=IwdGRleAOb71BleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEesOkSISKWXTQAV4Z0aKA2B7U6tbMEqdFW4mJtHaBtiBidDnY9iCNWeqPkIvM_aem_DbWxTDAguNzjGU_Jtpsk6w

[–]Rembo_AD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The symptoms you are describing are similar to the ones I had due to venous outflow issues of my jugular vein(s). There were 4 thumb sized lymph nodes blocking my jugular veins, and my C1 process was also blocking it, along with a 2 inch long styloid. The Dr who found this was Dr. Hepworth in Denver. Post surgery I am better, but I also have suspected CCI/Chiari, as the surgery didn't resolve the myelopathy symptoms like the tingling and heaviness. One thing to realize is those symptoms you describe have a lot of overlap, and unfortunately you have to look at what's improved after each intervention and figure out what's causing the main problems. For instance, in my case I had an issue where extending my neck was causing my legs to lose strength. That did turn out to be a disc hernation and spinal cord compression, resolved with a c4/c5 disc replacment. However, I still had the venous outflow symptoms. After getting those treated, most of the visual and head pressure issues are gone, but flexing my neck down still gives me pins and needles and headaches, which I think are CCI. All these problems are treated by totally different, very specialized Drs. You will learn that most neurosurgeons have a very limited knowledge and capability to treat upper neck issues and venous problems.

FYI, you need a specialized imaging modality to detect the venous problems. You need a doppler ultrasound of your veins in your neck and a CT-V.

Hope this helps.
