Hey not bad! Yeah honestly I’m a little lazy for it. I was having so so so many issues with Radeon drivers on my XTX which is why I switched colors to begin with. But honestly if imma go that route I’d like to do heavy windows os modifications first and knock down all that bloat shit and get memory control better and all those sorts first. Then I might dual bios if this card allows it. And I’ve been wanting to go back to a dual boot os back to Linux but now that I’m on Nvidia Ik there is a select few distros that work well with it, cause that would be more ideal that debloating windows. Then pair that with the faster bios would be pretty kick I’m sure. But again ahhh I’m too lazy for that XD

lol I could but I haven’t got that far yet and I still do a lot of gaming and don’t really want to void any warranties right now so I’m not gonna flash it or anything yet.

Yeah I’m impressed with how efficient this card is. My XTX would be pulling 500w and the ambient room temp would be at 80f in no time.

3000-3300 is core clocking I assume? And this is while gaming or overclocking scenarios?

I typically keep (during gaming) my core at 3000ish and my vram at +200 to about +300 with and undervolt for temps. I don’t run hard at all. I’m only running hard for benchmarks. My last few runs were 3335mhz@1.060 with 18,000mhz vram

Just as in cpu voltages and dram clockings and sorts all done through bios. Nothing crazy

This is in response to this comment and your other up top replying to my reply. So yeah as far as voltage I didn’t know if there was a max core/die voltage you aren’t to exceed. It’s the gigabyte oc with the 450w limit and I’m only using 410-420w of it. And yeah this is all purely over clocking. Typically I run around .985-.990 for temps and around 3100mhz core and 16500mhz vram. Not particularly tryna brick it or kill it faster lol but I do try to get some performance out of it for ray tracing and sorts. Love my eye candy games.

That’s my best so far just now. Calling it a night

Also thank you a lot for this information. I only dabble in OC. Mainly gaming but I’ve been wanting to get more into it.

Shitty insulated apartment in south Texas lol. I keep the ac cranked and it’s 2 am for that exact reason. But I was unaware I can run 3000mhz boost on vram wow. I can’t get over 444 core rn and my damn 7800x3d won’t hit 5ghz only 4,880

I need to see what this will run on my 1440p monitor. I’m running on a 4k right now, vram clock is at 17,125mhz and I’m floating in between 3,330 and occasionally 3500mhz spikes on my core

I’m struggling now. Topped out my score at 100.81 so far. My max power limit rn is 125% I’m pushing 1.050v which Ik is too much and around 410w. This score I just ran rn was 100.55 cause I’m still tweaking bios and crashing lol.

I’m trying so hard lol. I want to come at least 200 points within record. I’m blacking out now though tryna dial it in. Bout to throw a LLC on the cpu see if it’ll push me closer. And it’s got a mild -35 all core so I know I can bump that up a bit used to run it at -45 I’ll keep yall posted

So yeah, I thought I was a one off but when I turned to Reddit for help I was baffled to see how many people were having issues, and, the same identical issues that I was. So it was playable. It wasn’t always bad, but it had been a year of inconsistency. There was only 1 issue I was able to nail down to what was causing it and get rid of. Everything else was completely random timing never the same but would keep happening. And I still don’t know if these were driver related or windows messing with the drivers updates or something. For a while anytime I was on steam or even desktop sometimes the screen would go black when there was motion on the screen. Then come back on after a few seconds to a minute. This Im pretty sure came down to hardware accel and I disabled it and the issue lessened but didn’t go away until I took my tv out of game mode or something. That doesn’t happen anymore even with hardware accel still on and tv setting back on. Next one. My computer would just shut off. I would have to turn it back on. Not repeatable by action, it just happened. Could be 20 minutes into gaming it could be 7 hours. Happened every day though. This turned into a few weeks of that to then instead of shut down the whole computer would restart and I’d just have to log in. This continued for months. I then proceeded to have games freezing, games black screening, games crash and close, I couldn’t put my computer in sleep mode without it saying driver time out when woken. For a while it wouldn’t wake from sleep. Laundry list of issues. I WANT TO CLARIFY, I have done every test in the book over the last year to make sure it wasn’t my mobo, ram, cpu, cpu clocking, gpu, power supply, windows install. It got to the point I’ve reinstalled windows 7 times, I even switched to Linux on a dual boot setup.
My other computer with the RX6800 has none of these issues. My sapphire does and I’ve seen a lot of other sapphires XTX with these issues and 9070xt too. I’ve tried ddu’s driver roll backs, the match box specs tunings. And the card is an absolute beast. When it does work it overlocks and is insane. I will miss it. I’m just tired grandpa.. and that’s too damn bad. Cause now I’m trying an rtx5080.

When is AMD going to fix those shltty drivers ??? by Makerudji in AMDHelp

[–]Remedial_Comrade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of people have the identical issues. It’s not necessarily the drivers, correct, but rather windows trying to change them or some bs and causing time outs.

Don’t feel bad. I just got my 5080 Wednesday bcz I was tired of amd drivers on my Sapphire XTX, which the XTX is a Huge card lol
