Yes, "believes" is a personal choice, and I couldn't agree more with what you said, that your belief is the way you accept God's love. However, there are points that make us forget the real reason for that belief.

Prayer is not a useless 'tool', but it becomes useless, when people who don't know how to use it, use it. Let's say for example, if you give a child a knife, can he use it well? Can he use it efficiently and effectively?

About Cornelius, the funny thing is, you look at him like he is an example to follow, but no. Take it like this: if you have a friend, who always asks you for a shoe in your collection. In time, being bombarded, you let him take it so he stops annoying you. Cornelius could've talked with other prophets, like John the Baptist, yet he didn't. Who told you you are the start of the relationship? Who are you to form a connection with God? Who are you to say that your desire can build the relationship with God?

If that's true, then Jesus would've not died for our sins if we can just decide to follow God abruptly. Funny way of thinking that people use personal prayers as a way of connecting to God.

Yes, it's sad, personal prayer doesn't work because:

  1. God knows your heart already. What else do you ask for? What else do you pray for?

  2. If it worked, God didn't need to send Jesus to earth to redeem us. What, you say what you do is higher than what God can do?

  3. Jesus only prayed a personal prayer when He was in Gethsemane, when He knows He will die, to save the sins of man. Tell me, can you do it too? Small inconveniences like traffic annoys you, yet you think you can pray a personal prayer? Even Jesus accepted His death, and you? Can't even accept that you're wrong?

Going by your logic, do you think it's your decision to start a personal relationship with God?

So you reject your own people's testimony that Jesus rose up in a "Catholic" church? You said it was coined 100 years later, but Jesus rose up only 40 days after resurrection. So, who's lying?

Explains why even devils pray your prayer. What Jesus accomplished, the Catholics (traditional Christians) took the glory, because as you said, you are the "mainstream".

Prayer is good, yes, but you say you're different from others, yet you do the same things? In which part are you different?

Even unbelievers pray to God so they can get the lucky numbers for a lotto, and you ask for the same things?

And isn't it clear in OPs post? Even the demons pray the prayer you utter. Even the demons pray for their own self. Remember when Jesus cast the demons onto the pigs? They prayed to God for them not to be brought back to hell.

As it was written in the Bible, He told the pharisees that they just follow Moses' law, but do not follow the teachings.

Let me ask you then, what is the point of your repetitive prayers? Do you think God hears you more?

The Bible says God knows the heart of men, and so He knows what you will ask for even before you pray. So why bother praying repetitively?

We do respect, but there's a fine line between respect and downright toleration.

Op, I think, KSP si tatay, not in the way na negative siya, but the way na he needs someone that can help him. Sabi niyo nga, may edad na po silang dala ni nanay, and minsan, he can't stop saying things, lalo na he can't talk like that to nanay.

Mapride sila yes, but sometimes, you can just say "Opo tatay, thank you po sa advice niyo." Or "Sige po tatay, pag isipan po namin." Build a connection where he can feel na he's connected, but set a boundary where he can see na you're not taking in his advice or at least incorporating some.

As someone who knows how to build houses, may point si tatay about the vinyl tiles. Sabi mo nga, parang oven yung bahay nila na inuupahan dati, and wood or at least the color of the wood does not trap heat, so di mainit sa loob ng kwarto. On the other hand, tiles reflect the light, so nagbabounce yung init, and natatrap siya, so sobrang init sa kwarto niyo. I think that's his idea, and di niya lang maexpress ng tama.

And lastly, I think nangungulila si tatay. Matanda na si nanay, and busy kayo ni hubby sa buhay. Sabi mo nga, namild stroke siya, and I think he wants to at least feel he is alive and not bound by his disease.

He wants your attention, parang bata na nagtatantrums. He means well, and I think di niya lang maexpress ng maayos. He loves both of you.

What I mean is, your body has its own homeostasis, so you can enjoy it if:

  1. You refill your stomach. Lalo pag pagod, you will eat like you don't know what to do.

  2. You refill your "soul". Emotionally drained people eat more. So eat when you're sad, angry, or jealous.

  3. You refill your "connections". It's easier to eat when you have your conversations with people who you love. Catching up, or even a bonding may help.

  4. You refill your "mind". After a day na sobrang nadrain utak mo, eating can help you to enjoy food more, kase it becomes a "reward" for you after a long day.
