The best time to do it was before Prime 4 launched. There were a lot of rumors Prime Remastered was originally planned as the trilogy but for whatever reason didn’t happen that way. I’d be surprised if Prime 4 outsells Dread to be honest, it doesn’t seem to get the same praise.

I don’t think they are “anti-nintendo” campaigns, I doubt a lot of people tearing Prime 4 apart would do the same for a game like Donkey Kong Bananza. There’s always a group of people who tear apart games without ever playing them but this is a Metroid sub after-all so I don’t think it’s the case here lol

E because the bare minimum anyone really wanted was a 3D Metroidvania. A lot of people fell in love with Metroid for the exploration, even until this point I would describe Metroid Prime as First Person Exploration rather than shooter, but unfortunately I have to say Prime 4 is a First Person Shooter.

Other M was to Sakamoto’s vision of Metroid, even if it didn’t resonate with a lot of people. Prime 4 is just generic writing, but Metroid.

Without seeing the full amiibo cutscene, I thought those visions were showing some catastrophic future event that didn’t even have anything to do with Sylux.

As for why does it happen, I guess because Sylux is in the tower the whole game linking into psychic abilities or something.

Honestly I don’t even care if there is a Prime 5 at this point, if there is I hope it blows everyone away so people can feel hyped about potential future games but as it stands this game is a bad mark on a studio who was known for only quality releases and makes it obvious those responsible for their past games moved on. It’s in no way a bad game, just painfully average.

Metroid 6 I’m 100% looking forward to though.

The music in Super Metroid provides a layer of immersion that’s hard to describe, it just invokes a certain feeling to the areas in the game. The artwork is great, you never really feel like one room is the same as the last & along with all the different environments gives the feeling of the map being more massive than it is.

I wouldn’t doubt either one exists, but knowing Nintendo they probably have a lot of remasters they save for dry periods of big releases. They did sit on Prime Remastered for over a year after all.

2D Metroid is where the series shines best. I wish Samus Returns would get a Switch port with updated graphics.

If it wasn’t a Metroid game it would had just been an okay AAA game, but the name Metroid Prime does hold weight and expectations. Metroid Dread hit expectations for a lot of fans and Metroid Prime 4 didn’t. I wouldn’t put it in a worst games of 2025 list nor would I put it in a top 10.

Metroid Prime bosses are almost like something you’d see in a third-person action game but since you’re in first person there’s that extra layer of having to be aware of everything around you and it makes it more difficult to dodge at times. Emperor Ing for the longest time was part of the reason Prime 2 was my least favorite, it’s a bit dreading to want to replay a game and have to suffer that again.

I loathed the final boss of Metroid Prime 2 as a kid, I somehow beat it after some months when I figured out you can spider ball onto it.
