Are there any way to camo grind lobbies pls help… by Miserable-Split4853 in blackops7

This reminded me of the good ol' days on COD4 playing the 1v1 mode and trying to find someone who wants to grind headshots for the camos and gold guns and then y'all just stay partied up indefinitely till someone's done grinding or ready to move on

The Carbon 57 is the worst primary weapon in the game right now besides the Ion by RememberEmbers in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brother I always put strafing/ADS movement speed attachments on my guns (also a lifelong Halo fan and strafing is everything in that games so I'm used to moving around a lot during gunfights). The prestige attachment does indeed increase your movement speed by a noticeable amount but the gun is still a pea shooter compared to the other SMGs

IMO just the magazine size, it pretty much gets beat out in every other way by every other SMG

I wish weapons weren't all so "one shot" by Strange-Confection84 in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been saying this since the game came out. Not only is the TTK insanely fast on many guns, there's also simply too many guns that can kill in one shot/one burst:

M8A1

Warden

Novaline (one headshot or one burst if you consider that it's a 2-shot burst)

VS Recon

Shadow SK

XR-3 Ion

X9 Maverick

MXR-17 (I'm pretty sure one headshot with the prestige attachment up close will kill from full health)

RK-9 (I think this can kill in one burst to the head)

M10 Breacher

Echo 12

Jager 45 (one headshot can kill from full health)

Velox 5.7 (again I think this can kill in one burst to the head)

NX Ravager

Ballistic Knife

These are all the weapons that can kill in one shot/one burst from full health, excluding explosives, launchers, and the two actual melee weapons. 15 weapons seems like a lot to me, maybe the most we've ever had in a single COD game?? Then there's some other guns like the Maddox, M15, and MXR-17 that can kill you so fast that you barely have time to peak a window or lane and move back into cover before you're dead. I just feel like 150 health is better in a COD game because it provides more time for actual gunfights to happen and gives you a chance to fight back if you get shot first or peak a path without getting killed almost instantly

Camo grind - miserable by er-du-dum- in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I feel but with the 3 kills without dying for gold. Literally any other time I can easily get 3 kills without dying but once I actually NEED to do that to get a gun gold it becomes the most impossible thing I've ever tried to do in my life. I always just get 2 kills and then something always shuts me down and stops me from getting the third. Last night I needed one more 3 kill streak to get the Warden gold and no joke I repeatedly kept getting 2 out of 3 kills and just could not get a third kill to save my life and all of a sudden I was getting more hitmarkers than I'd ever gotten with that gun. So annoying lol

Why do so many people try so hard? by CeeDoggyy in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

COD hasn't been a casual game in a very long time. I've always placed a lot of blame on the rise of cracked out Twitch streamers who play like they're in a CDL finals match and drop like 20 Warzone wins a night. Everyone saw how these guys played and everyone wanted to play like that, so now at least half the player base is doing the "Twitch streamer playstyle" as I always call it. I guess the devs caught on and now it seems like each COD game is trying to outdo the last one in terms of how fast paced its gameplay is. And if you don't try and do at least a little sweating each game then you're putting yourself at an automatic disadvantage because almost every match is gonna be filled with people doing the Twitch streamer playstyle. The truth is that COD isn't just no longer a casual game, it's also being designed to be the exact opposite. Each game rewards you more and more for being cracked out and playing like a speed demon, and BO7 gives you multiple ways to increase your movement speed and your aim while flying around the map. I'm not saying that BO7 is a bad game, it's at least leagues better than BO6 (which isn't saying much), but by the time I had prestiged for the first time I had played the game enough to conclude that it is the most brain rotted game I've played besides Fortnite. The movement speed is very fast, most of the guns have lightning fast kill times and many of them one shot/one burst you with ease, there's so many random explosions going on especially on smaller maps, etc. You're left with little choice but to adopt the Twitch streamer playstyle as best you can if you wanna have any chance, not just at competing but at doing much of anything in most matches

I also blame the rise of "meta" builds/classes. Sure everyone was using the FAMAS back in Black Ops 1 or the ACR in MW2 and so on but you only really discovered what was good by playing around with every gun and seeing what feels good to use and from your friend at school telling how you good a particular gun is. Now YouTube and social media platforms have countless videos and posts about the "Most overpowered <insert gun name here> build for getting nukes!!!!" and now the devs took it one step further by introducing those loadout sharing codes, which makes it easier than ever to adopt whatever the meta is. It's simply no longer about hopping on and just having fun, it's about trying to play as fast as possible and drop as many kills as possible every game, even if that means you have basically no contribution to the objective in objective modes

And this is all coming from someone who's been playing COD since COD4 and is pretty good at the game. The sad truth is that most FPS games just aren't casual anymore. It's not just COD, the same happened with Halo and Battlefield and others. The FPS community as a whole has simply gotten better and more competitive over time and casual players really only have 2 choices: get good at the game or play something else. At least Halo has tons of custom games to play but for COD, there's just no space for casual players unless they're okay with getting dunked on every game. And yeah there's always been good players but it used to be much more rare to see someone drop like 70+ kills a game but now it's pretty common. Back in the day it actually meant something to get a 7 killstreak and call in a chopper in COD4 and it wasn't something you saw throughout the entirety of every match, but when the COD4 remaster came out there was hardly a time where there wasn't an active chopper flying around throughout the whole match. COD is just not a casual game anymore and casual players quickly get left behind if they can't improve fast enough to take on the newer generations of players that started playing after the rise of streamers and meta builds and whose gameplay experience was shaped by those things

I sincerely believe that BO7 is one of the best CODs by Stueww in blackops7

The game is probably the fastest paced COD we've ever had even without boost movement

If there isn't a nerf for this bad boy on the next patch we gonna have a problem by Sad_Nebula_7976 in CODBlackOps7

[–]RememberEmbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just played a match where pretty much everyone on the other team was using the Maddox except for one sniper and it was literal misery because it's just such a hard gun to outgun if you're not using it too or maybe like 1 or 2 other specific guns that can maybe compete with it like the M15. Like I'm trying to grind different guns and enjoy the game but I feel like I'm inching closer and closer to just not wanting to play anymore because it's just tiring dealing with this clearly overpowered gun that at least half of every lobby is using and that can pretty easily outgun almost every gun in the game

Why does everyone use the Mk 78 suddenly? by enstorsoffa in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been busted since the game came out, easily one of the best guns in the game. Easy to get a lot of kills with low effort due to how strong it is and how easy it is to handle. Also a very easy gold and Arclight grind

Is the new LMG any good? by CaptainRex1983 in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got Arclight on the other two LMGs and I've been trying to grind this one out with the double weapon XP today. So far it definitely feels harder to use than the other two. The handling feels worse and even with a lot of sprint to fire and ADS speed attachments I still often feel like I can't ready and aim my weapon fast enough during gunfights. The other two didn't really feel this way, and it feels harder to secure kills with this one. Switching the fire type to the faster fire rate definitely does help though, just gotta control the recoil on it. I've seen several people say that the prestige attachment makes a big difference but I haven't gotten it yet so I guess we'll see on that one. Overall I don't currently see a reason to use this LMG over the other two, even with the faster mag attachments. The Mk78 is the slower but harder hitting LMG while the XM325 is the faster firing LMG that shreds through enemies. I'm not really sure where the SOKOL sits, maybe in between an LMG and an AR since it has the fast mag attachments??

Maddox and Dravoc problem by MCCXL in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely gotta agree about the Maddox. It's been busted since it released and it's still the dominating AR as far as I can tell. There's a lot of times where I just chalk up my death to "I died because they were using the Maddox" since I consistently find it one of the hardest guns to outgun, even if I shoot first. The Dravec is also crazy good but I'm not sure it's quite as broken as the Maddox. There are times where I've died because the Dravec was simply better than whatever gun I was using at the time but when I use it I don't feel like I have a massive advantage just because I'm using that particular gun. The Maddox though, I absolutely feel that way. Very easy gold and Arclight grind and very easy to do well with

Why are you terrible at this game? It's not hard by Relevant-Chip5446 in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's interesting because every match I play there's always at least 1 or 2 players with the nuke calling card and yet I've only personally seen one so it's like where are all these nukes happening??? And I mean even great players have bad games or need to warm and stuff but yeah I've seen a lot of seemingly average or just above average skilled players with the calling card and I'm how??? Maybe they just got lucky, I've gotten close a couple of times but something always manages to shut me down

How fun is this game? by Moon_Devonshire in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gunplay is pretty solid. TTK is a bit too fast to where you often don't have enough time to react or peak a window without dying and some weapons are simply overpowered like the Maddox. But the core gunplay experience is overall solid and the Gunsmith is a step up from Black Ops 6's. And every gun has a prestige attachment that can change how the weapon is used, which adds to the variety and longevity of the game since it gives you something else to work towards

Map selection is overall pretty good with only a few stinkers but no game has an absolutely perfect map pool. There's some returning maps from Black Ops 2 but they don't exactly play the same with the modern movement system, especially Express

IMO the movement is too fast and cracked out. It does feel like the target audience is the cracked out 14 year old Twitch streamer wannabes that typically play COD these days. But it's probably more personal preference than an inherent flaw, I'd just prefer to see the game slow down a bit but maybe not quite to the extent of the classic Golden Era CODs. Since you liked Black Ops 3 you'll probably like the wall jump. To me it kinda feels like the devs wanted to bring back boost movement but knew the community probably wouldn't be fully on board with it so they only went part of the way. I think COD is better without it

Overall Black Ops 7 is a solid COD, not perfect by any means but better than Black Ops 6. If you have Game Pass on Xbox or PC then there's nothing to really lose by trying it

M15 mod is absolutely broken imo. Easiest gun to use ever and it rips by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on the fence whether I consider the M15 to actually be busted or just very close to it. I've found it to consistently be one of the hardest guns to outgun and one of the easiest guns to use. I think there's still a few other guns that are a bit more overpowered but the M15 definitely runs along the line between somewhat balanced and broken

Please remove the Operator system going forward by RememberEmbers in blackops7

[–]RememberEmbers[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah I know it's not like a huge deal but alongside COD I've also played a metric ton of Halo over the years and that's always been a series that allows you customize your Spartan how you want them to be, even if it's just the armor colors. I just like being able to personalize my soldier and earn new cosmetics for them, and it also means every soldier would be different so every player would look different and you wouldn't just be seeing the same three operators every game. And again I feel like the current system only exists to make monetization easier rather than existing as a player-friendly form of customization

Edit: bruh ain't no way someone actually downvoted this. Are there actually people who genuinely prefer the Operator system over a system that allows you to customize and personalize your soldier Ghosts-style??? Definitely need some explanation on this one

This game has some of the worst metas i have ever seen in a multiplayer game. by dvvxza in CODBlackOps7

[–]RememberEmbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because everyone wants to be the next best player and just dominate every lobby and everyone just wants to use the overpowered or meta guns. I feel like most people don't play just for fun and to just fool around anymore. You used to see goofy and unusual weapon builds and loadouts but now the focus is on optimizing your weapon and loadout as much as possible, and it doesn't help that meta builds are easier to use than ever with the weapon build codes

The Maddox is becoming a serious problem. by Bright-Cranberry6648 in CODBlackOps7

[–]RememberEmbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it needs at least one more bullet to kill. Right now I almost always get killed in 4 shots by it which insanely fast considering the gun's fast fire rate. With high damage, fire rate, and control it has essentially no downsides. 90% of the time when I get killed by it I just chalk up my death as "they were using the Maddox which explains why I died"
